Theo and Gervinho are both pests. Quick, troublesome forwards who are good providers but generally are found lacking in terms of incisiveness and a final product, but as you rightly say, without them we have no speed-related threat. It's worth having them for their pace and trickery alone as long as we don't expect anything more from them as a given.

Good article. He missed ONE chance today ffs. I admit, his performance wasn't great, but even the great Thierry Henry managed to miss a couple of one-on-ones you know. He just needs some good competition.

"He just needs" you will be saying that forever.

Based on past Arsenal sides in the past few decades neither of these players are good enough, they might be fast but not good enough but saying that we are certainly a shade of the sides we have been in the past with the beautiful game and exhilarating football, we all know it.

walcott is good team playerr but i don't think he is good enought to start each match just because of his pace

imo i think we a new winger maybe pato i know he's a striker but can play out wide too cause we ain't gonna get hazard

Walcott finds it difficult because he has the wing to himself,no fullback overlapping him when we get to play two proper full come wing backs feel sure he will improve, likewise Gervino.
You cannot play central defenders in the full back position and expect your wingers to play their normal game.

"wingers to play their normal game."

how about putting the ball away on a 1 on 1 for a player that says his a natural striker ?

Good post, Castor Troy.

"how about putting the ball away on a 1 on 1 for a player that says his a natural striker ?"

So did Henry. Numerous times. Theo is not even fully fit. He has not even recovered from flu and was highly dehydrated. But was pushed into the game by Arsene because of how bad we looked against Wolves.

Did you notice how many chances we created compared to against Wolves? Thats because of Theo's threat. And in fact his run for the one-on-one pushed back QPR backwards that opened the game in the second half.

Why aren't there posts slating Gervinho for missing a tap in?

The fact is that ALL strikers miss one-on-ones. Theo is a very good finisher usually. I for one would praise him for the rest of the contribution in game. Which was vital to even give Arshavin space to play.

I have not seen any of these statements supposedly made by Walcott claiming himself a striker. Have heard loads from pundits etc about how he's said he should be in the middle and Wenger should move him there. But all I have actually aver seen him say is that he's happy to keep playing and he knows he's improving. When and where has he made all these claims and demands?

"people fail to see what Theo brings to the team."

Yes, and there's a reason for that...
