Peltier Signs.....

I posted this earlier but I had the opportunity of seeing Peltier a couple of times last season as a mate of mine is an avid Huddersfield fan. He's quick, powerful and does seem interested in defending, something that can be lacking in modern fullbacks. He's also a handful at corners and scored with his head on both occasions I saw him. Personally I think he'll be a great buy and at the prices mentioned,a bit of a bargain. My mate thinks he's going cheap as well but that could be just that he's a northerner!! Good work Sven!

Praise the Lord, it's a signing!

A good signing too. The article suggests that he has played in a few other (defensive) positions, but I doubt he's been bought with those reasons particularly in mind. Surely he'll fill the number 2 shirt.

Good work, Sven! (and Faz)

Cracking signing.

Just what we needed too, a steady-eddie who can defend.

We won't even notice Naughton has left

Is this the sign of a new pragmatic approach from Sven,.
Maybe his experience of the Championship last season has made him realise that there is a place in this division for a good solid defensive pro- not only the touch attacking full back. We lost play off position last year because of goals shipped.

He smacks more of the Pearson player than Eriksson -I remember him whacking Wesolowski in the play off final... but not much else.

Anyway welcome and good luck!

In terms of the poster who saw him score twice in two matches watched-probably his career total for Huddersfield-please watch him playing for us -you must be his lucky charm!

It's always good to sign a player whose previous club's fans rate highly. The reviews of this guy are very encouraging.

johngee - Well, the original two full backs he signed (Naughton and Cunningham) were both good defenders as well as attackers and it was only really Van Aanholt who wasn't adept defensively.

This guy seems to be in the Naughton mould though and his reviews seem to be very good and I do agree with you john that it's good to see Sven looking beyond the Premier League for players and I too think he's learned from last season.

Nah! He's going to be just another squad filler like Nicky Maynard

Huddersfield fan here.

Fantastic Player, both in defence and in and around the centre of the park. In my opinion he is pretty much the same sort of player as Naughton and more than capable of stepping into his shoes.

Nice interview with Peltier on the BBC site. Sounds level headed enough. A real scouser.
