Ba only joined Newcastle a couple of months ago and has a dodgy knee. Would cost too much to take the risk.
Tiote would be a steal but we need creativity really.
£40m bid for both and we will cement top 4 and beat Napoli in the last 16

£40m?? I know you're in a bit of a slump but dont turn to the liverpool ways!!
Sure it was going round Chelsea bid 30 million last January and then he signed a 6 1/2 year contract. Ba would be an unreal signing
He said he didn't want to live in london (tiote that is)
I would really love us to get Ba, what matters is what avb thinks though, has he spoken to anyone about it?
Drogba>>Ba. but a good player
Andy
Hand them over now or else
JackyRambo
Poorly phrased, I meant a combined bid of £40m so £20m each. We are no Liverpool
Andy
He could live in Surrey then
Ba does look very good, but we seem to be looking at Cavani right now.
Tbh tiote has been poor this year. He missed a fair chunk of it and always takes 3 games to get back in his stride. He was great last night. Ba is rubbish he's lucky you'd be much better off with cavani
Andy
Give him up now, hand them both over, you have until Midnight 1st Feb
I do admire Tiote but if you put him in a midfield along with Ramires you're asking a lot from the thrid midfield in terms of passing because those two are pretty poor. It just wouldn't work.
I also watched Tiote last night and thought "Thats Michael Essien of 4 years ago", but a couple of geordie mates say the same, 1 good game followed by 3 average games, bummer
I REALLY hope we don't fall for this. Tiote is alright but nothing that Essien doesn't have on a good day, and Ba is experiencing the same rush that Carroll had last year, if you literaily pump all yr resources into the requirements of one player - that player's form and ability will be immensely magnified. Signing Ba would be like signing a second, older, more expensive Lukaku ..... if he joined, once his initial confidence siege wore off from his Newcastle form, that's all we'd be left with.
If we choose to sign another central striker in the summer, it needs to be someone with that 'it' factor. In Torres (at the moment) we've got a capable no.10 figure, and with a return in confidence we'll have a deadly finisher. In Lukaku, we've got a strong presence who can hold the ball and bring others into play, and if we think he isn't ready just give Drogba his 2 year contract. The only component missing is a striker with that something different about him, e.g. Neymar.
Essien in his prime would have got into most teams in the world, tiote's not quite at that level, however ba seems to scare the $hit out of defenders much as drogba used to.
would love Ba or Cavani
Tiote would be good too
but our board couldn't negotiate a happy meal at macdonalds
will probably end up with Cahill and....... thats it
Cavani all the way... need to make a bid soon!
wont be able to play CL though
Ba is good HHBF. I never rated Carroll last year as it was clear even when he was scoring goals he was a one dimensional target-man. Ba is different. A very clinical finisher, good link up play, a powerful shot and can play in many different styles IMO, of course coupled with his obvious height and strength. I wouldn't say no.
Tiote is overhyped IMO and in any case not needed. Why would we when we have Romeu and Ramires who are both better?
