well ramires is absolute class
meireles is good too
and romeu has been one of your few positives from the season so far.
so i dont see your point.
if you are expecting modric to give you some presence then your barking up the wrong tree.
You miss my point, I know all our midfielders are good (most of them anyway), its just that I don't see them dominating against quality midfields like Real Madrid's or Barca's. Do you?
As for Modric, I would dearly love him but honestly don't believe we will get him...
well you wont be getting modric so dont concern yourself over that.
yeah but who exactly does dominate those midfields???
barca have three of probably the top 5 attacking midfielders in the world in theirs - xavi iniesta fabregas
whilst real have players such as xabi alonso and ozil etc
how often have you ever see a real or barca side get dominated in a game? unless they are playing each other...
thats not how you beat them... you beat them by having a strong defensive unit that can contain them, and hitting them on the break, or using set pieces.....
Our midfield dominated them under Mourinho and Hiddink. Hence the comparison of our old and current midfields in the OP...
It was always going to be a difficult job replacing essien (of 3 years ago) awesome player, and they don't come around that often.
We need a replacement for Lampard. We have no one in our team that can score or create as much as him.

yeah but real and barca were then not quite what they are now..
Another reason why we should get a left winger and go 4231
TERRY - LEADER - LAMPARD - LEGEND 90000 (U4640)
Closest possible thing to him now is Hamsik I think. Bit more pacy than Lamps but not as many goals, would you go for him?
well you wouldnt get hamsik until summer earliest.....
TLLl has got it right, why I would prefer someone like Hamsik or Kroos or Vidal to Modric or Moutinho if we stay 433. We already have two deep lying playmakers at the club (Meireles and McEachran) but no box to box goalscoring midfielders
Hamsik would be a fantastic signing but I can't see him leaving Napoli
Thank you Chronic, but I don't think any of us thought we'd get him before then anyway. And BK I would much prefer a 4-2-3-1 formation myself...
Sorry we do have one box to box goalscoring midfielder of course in Lampard but he's on a slope as the say..
Actually Vidal is more of an Essien or Ramires kinda box to box midfielder who can play DM and his play is quite different from the likes of Kroos and Hamsik(a rare breed of player these days)
Hmm...but he did at Leverkusem he scored alot of goals and took alot of set-pieces, as well as getting assists so I've always seen him as a box-to-box type abit like Lampard. There's also Henriksen although he plays in Norway and I reckon de Bruyne would do a good job there
De Bruyne would do a job anywhere in the 3 of a 4-2-3-1 imo. Don't know much about Henriksen tbh, how old is he?
haven't heard much about Henriksen. Will probably do a bit of research now you mentioned him. De Bruyne's arrival will hopefully mean a switch to 4-2-3-1 which I feel suits this team best. Hopefully, Hazard or Neymar or even Lucas M would join in the Summer
TBK,
With Swansea already loaning Sigurdsson, do you feel a loan for Josh there would be a good move for him considering Britton and Allen's perfomances as well as Gylifi's(spelling presence). I'm beginning to lean more towards somewhere like Bolton, West Brom or Villa. In these places, he'd also be far from Sinclair(who I feel might turn his head negatively about Chelsea)
*Gylifi's(spelling) presence.
