If United win the FA Cup and finish 2nd, considering that they have not won that trophy for a while and other circumstances this season, that would not be such a bad outcome?
great article pal ad exactly voicing my thoughts.
- Couldn't have said it better myself! So sick of it.
You come on this board and it's always negative comments. Past 2 defeats and this board is more hostile than The Chainsaw Massacre. I come on to enjoy a win over our rivals at their ground and we're still moaning.
Is Captain Positivity really the type of fan you want to be?

Yes, but I don't think I'm good enough.
Wow you should be a preacher, that was one hell of a sermon..
Good article. The older fellas here will know that being 3 points off the top, in a euro comp and past a difficult FA cup fixture, while in a major transition was dream stuff, akin to the position City also find themselves in.
I guess, as long as we have success, we will have fans that have never tasted any sort of prolonged period without silverware... who feel entitled to win.
I am thankful to have gone through the tough times as I enjoy every success that bit more.
ps - I know we have some very clued up younger fans here and probably some proper idiot, whinging older fans...
Great article, I do think some of the more demanding fans never lived through the time when the Pool where the top side and all we had to look forward to was a good run in the FA cup. God I remember 1 season when we went on a 9 or 10 game winning streak at the being of the season but got a couple of injuries and fell right of the pace, wonder what the glass half empty fan would of been like then
Smashing article. Put all my thoughts into words.
im sorry but i only partly agree with this article
fans have every right to criticise a team, we certainly praise the team when they play well, but when we play rubbish, equally we slate them
blackburn, newcastle and the second half today was unnaceptable, not to mention the 6-1, the crystal palace loss, the early champions league exit etc. this season has highlighted a few key talking points:
were being sold lies about their being funds available and value for money. players are being played out of position, tactics are rubbish, fergie relying on the old guard too much.
yes we are suffering injuries but performances have been shocking. mistakes are being made and player attitudes are questionable.
We pay money to see man utd play, buy merchandise, we support them, we certainly have a right to criticize.
your right about some fans such as captain positivity but not all fans are like him.
I'm sure some people on here would rather see us lose, so they can say that we need to spend stupid amounts of money on certain players.
Ah, but if you support the team through thick and thin you've just got red-tinted glasses on, not like the true me-me-me-now-now-now of the true Thatcher's kids - the fans that have learned to use the internet before they can even spell, let alone think. Fork 'em all, we'll never die

what I saw from man city in the second half, I havent seen from united this season
we've lost that power, hunger and desires, results have been bad, of course not many people are going to be positive.
this article is ill timed, simply because we are in transition is not an excuse for some of the garbage football and decisions we have seen this season.
the fact we weren't able to sort this midfield, and brought ashley young instead is scandalous.
I agree with Park Mi Hung, as supporters of the team we have the right to critise the team if we play really poorly. Fact is we are Manchester United, not Swindon no disrespect to them. Utd are a huge club so we are expected to be a quality side and should not be humiliated in front of the whole world.
Ok I a understand we can't always win trophies, players getting old an stuff but there should be an ambition for the club to have quality players within the ranks, we do have some very good players in the side but we lack that extra world class type of player. Past Utd sides have had many, this Utd side I'm not sure, Rooney is still to convince me.

We just won the match you moron. Also noone is saying you can't critise the team but doing it constantly, particularly given our current position on and off the pitch, is not being a 'supporter'. The clue is in the name.

Great article, I had my cousin telling me that United were in 'crisis'
I proceeded to call him a plastic all afternoon
Great article. I agree 100%. We just beat City, at the council house, enjoy it, FFS! Excellent article. comments like "Rooney is yet to convince me" make me laugh, well with a hint of sadness.
