The Torres-Ramires Understanding

Torres always refers to him as 'Rami' so they must be pretty close off the pitch.

Torres miss at ot was also from ramires ....

but No

Gerrard and TOrres had an understanding gerrard got him the ball all the time , ramires doesnt return the favour he couldve easily passed it back to torres if hew anted to for the second goal but didnt
At LFC every player wouldve passed torres in that situtation thats why alot of his goals where tap ins

here everyone is abit selfish, sturridge ramires lampard would all rather shoot

It would be good if Ramires started chipping in with a few assists tbh, not only for torres but for the whole team. However, the two seem to have a good understanding. Torres' hold up play recently has also been good which hasn't really been picked up on, thats what's allowed ramires to make those runs from deep

Also worth mentioning, its not Torres FC. It doesn't all have to go to him and a player doesn't have to pass to him so he can get an easy goal. Ramires needs to improve his passing, but its getting the goal which is most important and he's been getting them

I don't see the big problem. As long as we are scoring goals I do not mind who does it. And partnerships do jot always have to be equal scoring wise eg. Hasselbaink and Gudjohnsen

But if your up 2 nil and already scored 1 wouldnt it be better helping out your team mate whose dying for a goal whose helped you all season ?

Yes its not Torres Fc, but if you want to get the best out of him, build the team around him like liverpool did buying all spanish players playing him up by himself.
Why did we pay 50mil :0 for him to just assist goals ?

Stig either way it is a goal though. Although I can't blame Ramires for not passing after OT...joking! But seriously I don't see the big deal that Ramires didn't one two Torres espiecally since he scored. Was a good finish as well

His assist ratio is still very impressive though, 10 assists in all competitions. So you can sort of think of that as 10 goals he has contributed to.

are any of you watching ballon dor awards ? shakira looks mighty fine! anyway back to the topic

Look at Barcelona Messi has 16 assists its not that assisting is bad its just messi gets goals too because he has someone else passing him, we need someone who can break defences with a killer ball

Its interesting Torres' season stats breaks down to
22 appearances, 4 goals, 7 assists
BUT
when you consider that those appearances are 14 starts and 8 subs, he hasn't done too poorly

hes also missed like 5 sitters so if you add those if he scored would have a good record

True. But the anti-chelsea pundits won't hear any of that.

Can't say a thing, I didn't see the game but I'm not sure its quite right to blame ramires for not passing when he scored.

I kinda feel chelsea have began to head in that direction. AVB bought in mata and romeu, two spaniards, he plays torres up front alone getting plenty of support from the wing forwards either side. They're certainly trying to become more continental in a passing style of play (a defensive high line allows for greater possession play), as opposed to the strong powerhouses of old,
