I think our team plays exactly the way that KH says in his after match reports, and we deserve to be in the position we are in.
Our squad is not as strong as most of the other squads in the league, simple as. How can it be? On Saturday we are playing the "Manchester City" of the FLC. The spent 3.5 million on Beckford last season, can you imagine our club spending that amount on a whole team, let alone one player!.
As you say it, it is almost impossible for our club to achieve anything over and above survival.
Couple this with the fact that our best player is out for the season, and any players in our squad that could attract a large fee and bring money into the club, are usually lost for next to nothing, (Howard, Hammill, potentially Butterfield).
Just try to enjoy the football, especially when the Whipping boys in white come darn the well, then go "Marching on together" through exists with 20 minutes still to play!
PS. We have already beaten Donny this season, and Hull, let us hope we can retain our Derby Crown!.
Plank,I think that it was common knowledge that we aren't going to recieve any kind of massive cash injection from the current backers (Cryne has been looking to sell the club on for some time if I remember correctly).
Money dosent always bring you results though, and I would rather us go up due to the quality of our squad rather than risk it all on a financial gamble.
.....and now 1pt worse off, just watched a fuzzy picture stream from Thai tv, we played well defending resolutely when we needed to restricted them to half chances and counter attacked with pace and threat. Vaz Te missed a one on one near the end after breezing through two players. Scheichel kept them in it to be fair we could have had more, no fluke a hard won deserved win. Up the Reds!!!
