I dont give a flying flk what some guy in some news paper says.

Its never had any impact on my life.

Some folk do take it seriously

The media is a choice read listen watch if you like.
And if you dont well its simple.

The Duke, fair play to you. But what I'm on about is the lack of good journalism in this country.

The press have been spoon fed stories from Rangers for years and now they are being shown up big time because Whyte is keeping his cards close to his chest.

I'm loving it.

Charlie, nope. I do all my reading on-line.

Murray threw the press pack scraps and they had to be on their best behaviour to get even that.

Whyte has nothing to throw them.

Zachsda, me too.....But recently with the phone hacking scandal for example, I would say it's about time they all sorted their houses out and got back to good old fashioned journalistic integrity.

Instead of rumour mongering and misleading the general public.

During all of this there has been an up-swell of new media on the internet. Much of which is spot on when it comes to telling us all what's going on at Rangers.

We all know the Irish back to Africa man you are talking about, what has he actually said that is spot on, that any overloaded LSD fanatic couldnt tell ye in one of his deep moments!

The OP ain't said it was compulsory to buy a paper, he's saying the standard of journalistic investigation relied too heavily on being Mintys parrots and now the new broom ain't interested in being their pal they are being shown up for the amateurs they really are.

McCannStoleMaCookie, if you mean Phil Mac then I think you're limiting your on-line experience if he's all you're reading.

There are many good websites to read like the RTC blog.

I found it to be less about whataboutery and more about the facts.

Because Celtic fans don't read down-market newspapers

Mintys parrots, the media in the last three years of his tenure, where out to destroy him!

In his early days he sold them a dream and they bought it up like everyone else, the journos where just as blinded as the fans until the juggernqaut crashed, it might get repaired by the mechanic Whyte sucking his teeth or get taking to the scrappy!

As sports journalist go I like Graham Speirs. He writes well and although I don't always agree with some of his points he seems pretty fair.

I'm sure they have in the past to meet their own ends. That doesn't make said journalists any less lazy in my eyes because I'm a Celtic fan.

I doubt very much that Dermot invited Keith Jackson on to his jet or fed succulent lamb to Jim Traynor.

Zachsda, the point is that these guys used the lobby system for too long. So much so they've seemed to forget how to actually do their jobs.

Guidi's exclusive on Clyde was straight from Follow, Follow. Not what you would call the greatest unbiased source on the net. He then got shown up when Whyte denied the story......A smack in the gub he could have avoided if he actually done his homework.

Even I knew that Whyte signed a contract with MIH about not entering into communication with HMRC about the tax case.

Lazy, lazy journalism.

As I said in the OP, I don't want to see these guys lose their jobs....Just be better at it.

I think its fair to say that not only was it just the media up here that was swept up with Moonbeamania in the 90s, but the majority of us all. In that we all believed that he was going to make them the best in Europe etc ( leave that accolade to Celtic FC ) and that their resources knew no limits.
Seriously, I knew plenty of Celtic fans at the time that wished someone like Murray ran our club and without wishing to sound like some visionary I simply put it to them that all this big spending would eventually come back to bite them in the erchie.
The media probably knew that also but they surfed on the tide of euphoria of it all because it simply sold.
