like you say it was a bit harsh to chuck him in against city when he hasn't played for a while. overall i think he was ok but i've never felt totally comfortable when he's got the ball at his feet. but kelly is still quality and is still only young!
I agree, should have kept johnson at right back and enrique at left.
I thought he was quite solid actually apart from that one error which he got away with. To be fair to him no-one knew what position they were playing in that ridiculous half an hour so you can't blame him for that.
But we have a game in 3 days, so i can understand the changes.
Was hoping he could take on the challenge like he took the opportunity against United last year but City were always going to be more difficult.
I feel like I should question some of Kenny's tactics tonight but hey it got us a win!
I'm convinced he's going to be a future centre back, not a RB.
But with Agger, Skrtel and Johnson (who has been superb for the most part under kenny) he's going to have to wait.
I thought Kelly looked quite composed for most of the game, but he made one error which is common for a player coming in after a few matches out. Dont worry OP
Yeah I just noticed smaller things like he's touch in the first minute that went off for a throw I think he was a bit nervous.
Centre back is considered his best position so I'd like to see him there more but we already have Coates aswell.
Still think it's between him and Coady for future Liverpool captain.
Actually the first "average" game I've seen from Kelly. Was missing that eye-of-the-tiger.. obviously lacking match time.
I dont mind, He was part of a defence that kept a cleansheet. That's all that matters to me . But i agree, it was tough for him, coming in and bang there's city... if you get what I mean.
Kelly has been good but overhyped bigtime. He is not in the same league as Johnson at right-back, however, from the games I've seen him playing in centre back, I predict a bright future for him there.
Kelly might even be worth a look at DM.
I love Kelly, think he's a future star. Apart from one bad touch and one bad pass he was solid.
Yeah don't get me wrong I didn't mean he was bad I was disappointed that he didn't showcase his talents to convince Kenny to give him more game time.
It's tough for him mentally at the moment, he knows he is only back up right back and well down the pecking order at centre back.
Not his best tonight but he is still a quality player and will have a long and fruitful career at the club.
Most young players who burst on to the scene have a spell of levelling out (look at Richards, was a monster, then he was crap for a while, now he is a beast again).
