Dru, cheer up you miserable sod...................your tainting the magic ffs............few ground could ever compare.
Dru, you're right about the fact people who watch football have changed, while a match was going on, I saw a woman knitting and not even bothering looking at the football, the person next to her was playing on a DS, not watching the football.
Why would you pay money to go to the match, am I old school or what I thought you went to a match to support your team from the first whistle until the full time whistle, also to let some steam off,and create an atmosphere
SDS Black, in my opinion the best striker to play for DCFC after Kevin Hector was Dean Saunders, the best million pound we ever paid for a player, thanks Oxford.

This will put the cat among the pigeons! I thought Goddard was the better striker of the two. Saunders was a great finisher and had electric pace, but as an all round striker Goddard had it all. I remember his winner against Everton at home in March 1989 when he deftly lobbed Southall from the far corner of the penalty area and placed it perfectly into the top corner 3-2!
Baseball Ground was a very special place...a place where many of us starting to support Derby. I dont remember what my 1st game was but one of the 1st memories i have is of the Benfica game. On my stool in the Ossie End which my Dad made me. I still have the stool now which is one of my prized possessions.
Real Madrid at home was a real memory for me...also the Cup Semi Final season when we beat Everton & Liverpool at home plus Newcastle at home in Q/F..Rioch's free kick is still the hardest Free Kick ive ever seen!!!
Too many great memories of the BBG..Where i also had the privilege to be on the Groundstaff for about 4/5 years. It was great working for the club in the Arthur Cox years..2 promotions..getting to know all the players was like a dream come true for me as a young lad. But times change and we had to move to Pride Park which i think is a fantastic stadium. One thing i would like to do tho is go back in a Time Machine and take my lad to a game at the BBG..He wouldnt know what hit him!!!
Bemrose Wazza?
Goddard was skillfull but Deano was electric. I remember him skining Adams at Arsenal and Adams dragging him down for a penno. Then thumping one in from the edge of the area. 2-1 Rams at Highbury in the year Arsenal won the title.
That time machine would be fully booked for years Backo. What about the night when we lost to Plymouth in the FA Cup. The sence of doom and anger was incredable. I feared for the Plymouth fans that night.
From the corner over cherry's head
Iwas...i was working there at the time of the Plymouth game..that was a massive blow to the club!! Peter Taylor was in charge then...he didnt last much longer.
I was at plymouth, the 0.0 then we got them back at our place still from this day, don't no how we lost that, am i right in saying (kenny burns played that day?)

I was at Plymouth too. The shot that hit both posts. We rode our luck down there and ran out of luck at home.
Don't know about Burns. Can't remember.
I am sure Wilson was playing too i am getting like you iwas, i can't remember, been to many games to remember
I was also at Plymouth. Right behind the goal when that extraordinary shot hit the post, rolled across the line and hit the other post. I remember the tv pundits debating for ages as to whether Steve Cherry got a hand on it.
Bobby Davison substituted for Dave Watson
Tommy Tynan
I was at the replay too.
Vivid memories and I was only 11.
Backo remember how frozen the pitch was against Sheff Wed in the FA cup
Amber,
Yes, I do. All the players were wearing trainers!!
Yeah Backo was 1 of the groundsmen that night....I remember oh Bobby Bobby Davison knocking Martin hodge the Shef Wed goalie out.
