looked like a good prospect a few seasons ago but hasn't done much recently. Fits the bill in terms of position I suppose
Doesn't that comment sum up 90% of our squad?
Its often how mangers are able to get the best out of individual players. If Nigel thinks he can do a good job for Leicester rather than someone who costs several million then good for us.
We've witnesssed this season that money doesn't buy instant success and you have to wonder about £10million spent on Mills and Beckford. Not the players (they may come good) but the amount of money spent or wasted depending on your opinion.
He's always looked dangerous when he's played against us.
Short term contract - worth a punt.
I was under impression Mills and Beckford's transfer fees were £7.25m in total? Still alot of money, but so is £2.85m.
Massive potential a few years ago. How come hes dropped off the boil? If its injury I'd be worried as one thing he always had was pace.
Surely we've learned by now that old players and broken players aren't going to get us there. Even some of Sven's picks have reinforced that truth. We must look for the young and the hungry, and pay what it takes to secure them. For once, and for the moment, we can afford to do so.
He's 24 and has never had a major injury...?
He seems to have bobbed around a bit with various Championship teams, but not quite settled anywhere. It hardly fills you with enthusiasm but, I guess, he's worth looking at on a free.
I suppose that we have to be careful of going down the road of "anything's better than what we've got". In terms of wingers it's Lloyd Dyer, Franck Moussa and .... hmmmm.
I'd have liked us to try and get Andros Townsend. I don't know how hard we tried or whether he just preferred Leeds. There's also that Stoke lad, Marshall, he's only 20 so may have more potential although, I confess, I've seen little of him.
Ahem, details, details, KTF.
For whatever reasons, he seems to have missed the bus. Perhaps having "George Best" amongst his middle names became a burden. We've had too many lame dogs in the last few years. We want winners now!
