I reckon kenny has one eye on the league, and one eye on the carling cup...
Love Kenny but I am again dissapointed with Kenny's team .
Would have Kelly in there instead of Carra
On a plus note there is no sign of Spearing.
the thing is stoke have proved a very difficult team to play against for many teams, they are not 8th in the league for no reason, kenny has picked a team that he believes will nulify their threat and also take the game to them!! they have taken 4 points from tottenham this season and drawn with man utd so theyre not exactly poor! we beat them away from home and we can have them at anfield! lettssssss goo!
-------------
3points from tottenham as we havent played them twice. Plus we were by far in a way the better team, just poor refereeing cost us the game. At home the Brittania is a fortress. Away stoke are way too poor for a lineup like this.

It was the spearing injury which made us play cack against city. We were playing well until he went off
I actually think Coates is a good choice against stoke, believe me this guy is a lot better than most seem to give him credit for.
I really don't understand Maxi exclusion though, has he got a knock??
Remember we have been playing a lot of games recently so we do need to rest players from time to time.
Carra is still one of the best organisers around and much better at defending set pieces than Skrtel is so I guess that is why he's starting. Stoke are not known for pace so he won't have a problem there.

-------------
What I meant by that, is he can help Skrtel out, as that is still one weak area in Skrtels game.
Give it a chance lads, discuss the merits of the team after the game.
Must be a 3-5-2 formation
Reina
Skrtel Carra Coates
Johnson Henderson Adam Gerrard Enrique
Downing Kuyt
Or it could be this:
-------------------Reina-------------------
Johnson--Skrtel--Coates--Enrique
-------------Carra----Adam-------------
Gerrard----Henderson----Downing
-------------------Kuyt--------------------
-----------------Reins---------------
-----------Carra---Skrtel----Coates
Johnson---------------------------Enrique
------henderson---Adam--Downing
---------------------Gerrard--------------
--------------------Kuyt-------------------
Definite 3-5-2, parking the bus? No way.
A bit of a throwback to the Roy Evans days except these days we've got a top class set of centre backs and a top keeper.
The pass and move will shine through this one.
5 at the back = parking the bus?
BB this is a 3 centre backs with Johnson and Enrique providing the width.
3 at the back, but I'd we need to we can make it 5.

Trust me when I tell you that Spearing is no where near good enough for a team that wants to be above average in the premiere league, forget top 4 or winning it
I will admitt it was prob he best game against City but this fella is shocking.
When we go a goal down, he is not capable of putting his foot on the ball, being creative, scoring.
He will run through a wall and gve 100% but so would you or I
I bet you would have Carra, Spearing, etc...all day if you were in charge
Wait until Spearing leaves the pool it will be to a div 2 or conference team...he is soo bad it is beyond belief
Not necceserialy.
You could have 5 at the back and still be attacking.
You could play 5-0-5 formation.
That would be interesting...
I dont undersand why Carroll isnt starting? Needs games for goals surely
all our pace is Johnson and Enrique
I think 3 at the back is a good idea and frees those two up to storm down the flanks
Verbal, conference or div 2? You are spouting verbal diorrhea there mate.
Verbal.
Spearing is nowhere near 1st team level. however, this does not mean he is cack.
I believe that shelvey and Coady have more potential, but don't say he's rubbish just because he hasn't broken through completely..
Let's bring back Roy. He plays 4-4-2. That's an attacking formation.
Redinthehead -at least we didn't finish 13th

Sir, trust me, its not just my opinion I have a few good friends at Accrington and they were at Lpool at the same time as Spearing and were astounded he was kept on.
I believe he never left Highway's side and was good with helping with off field duties and is basically a very nice lad, the people I have spoke to are very pally with him but they like me think he is punching above his weight.
I hope I am wrong but firmly believe his level is conference or semi pro..........how people think we can wn things with this fella is scary
That was very disappointing yesterday, we had 69% possession of the ball but couldn't find an outlet to do anything with it.
Very disappointing.
