Pakistan will keep the Asian Flag high by annihilating England.India and Srilanka do not have quality quicks but Pakistan do have warriors.

amla, my friend, your misguided hopes are as long as your beard.

will it now be the turn of Pakistanis to get a drubbing at the hands of the English in their own 'back yard'?

Pakistan are currently the best team from the sub-continent, no question about that. The last 18 months proves so and if england are thinking we'll roll over like the indians have done for the last 8 months or the lankan are doing now, then they best think again.

England are a better team and favourites as we go into the first test - but pakistan are taking baby steps up the rankings ladder and i hope that continues in the next few weeks.

afridi, if your boys/bhais lose 3-0 they will be taking a backward step in the rankings again.

seriously, i don't think pakistan are on a par with india and they have been guilty of being spineless in adversity in the recent past.

they should make flat pancake wickets so that pakistan have a chance of getting big scores to draw all three matches.

That's the best they can hope for as england will have to play desperately bad to lose a single test match.

Peter,

No chance of us losing 3-0. None at all. 2-0 worse case, more likely 1-0. what you mean by spineless? we havent lost a series in the last 18 months, and although misbah is defensive, it certainly hasnt cost us games, we may not have won, but didnt lose either.

i mean spineless in the last few years.

you have improved over the last 18 months, but which team of any note have you beaten in a series?

being defensive is your only hope until you get better or more consistent players.

Pak will do fine in UAE but questions will still be there in what they would do in bowler friendly conditions. One thing we can rely on is better bowlers who would embrace those bowler friendly tracks.

What I found laughable was the way he was ridiculing English fans on the spot fixing issue since he himself is English ( correct me if I amk wrong).

Neon we can bat a couple of day with ease on those tracks but it won't be pretty especially if it's Taufeeq, Ali and Shafiq doing the batting.

I don't think neon is to blame, in fact most of these altercations seemed to be started by Amla or Afridi then get blamed on Neon.

As for subcontinent cricket? It looks very very poor currently and I don't think Pakistan are the best team in Asia and I doubt they'll enjoy their series against England.

dunc, sorry but everywhere i look neon is talking tosh

i don't care who starts it, he isn't man enough to put the guys he fights with on filter and ignore them. thus he spoils thread upon thread.
