why you comparing the two. The english hammered the indians into orbit. some indian fans thought it was because of injuries and a blip and so on. the west indies brought the indians back to earth and shankar and co thought that life was a song and a dance again. The aussies are now sending the indians into orbit again and this time, the hope is that, they learn some lessons and make changes before returning again (old dogs out, new guys in)...... we shall see.
regards to the better win - aussies would probably sneak that because the indians have a full strength team out. but a win is a win is a win.
Jeez and there people that want timeless tests
But looking at the scorecard, so far, England's thrashing were by bigger margin, unbelievably bigger.

True, but indians had all their players at thier disposal. Also, Aussies are re-building with all top 3 players being newbies and 2 new bowlers in as well. Give aussies their due mate, they have been superb.
timeless tests
Kash, I never had known in my 5 years of cricket fanship, Cricket(by that i mean test matches) of highest quality than in the last 1 and a half year.
If pitches are sporty than Test match is the best selling novel.
chopping,
how was your exam the other day?
This current Oz Vs Ind has got jack to do with the next ashes series.....
More importantly at this stage is , how the hell did this Aussie team get done by N-Z a short time ago on top of the 47..??? against Sth.Africa.
I'm delighted with this result against India but there is a long way to go before we can start talking ashes series....albeit I look forward to an ashes series regardless of where the teams are placed on the rankings...bring it on...

Australians do look in a much better shape than did 8-10 months ago.Bowling in terms of potential is as good as England's. Batting is a minor concern and thats where England have the edge.
neon, I'm not taking this series as a measuring stick at all.......questions still need to asked over our performences against N-Z & Sth.Africa..but at least the young bowlers have shown some back-bone and fire in the belly required for the next step.....

Fortunately we have 2-3 capable batsman waiting in the wings but it's hard these days for a player to realise he may of hung around one season to many when they are capable of earning 1-million big ones with endorsment and wages to go on one season to many.....it's a huge carrot.
Chopps I agree more supporting pitches is good for test cricket but u will only see that in 50% of test nations as the sub cont, west Indies and UAE tracks are very flat.
England retain ashes........$1.38
Australia to regain ashes...$3.00
Seems just about right I feel at this stage..
