I'm no longer sure which corner you're trying to defend

To be fair, Swansea used to play this kind of football under their previous manager too!

As for our own problem, I think it's down to good coaching, or lack of, in our case!

It is a simple question, for anyone with the slightest knowledge of football it is a no brainer.

Do Swansea play better football than Everton?

Yes/No will suffice Phil

Rodgers has got Swansea playing good football & if he keeps them in the PL playing in this way then it'll be a great achievement.

However, the big test for any promoted side that survives their first season, is maintaining it in season 2.

Because they're new to the division they're often a 'surprise package' to start with but often get found out towards the back end of their first season - remember Hull?

They were lying 4th in November of their first season & ended up staying up by the skin of their teeth & then went down the following year.

I like Rodgers & I like his teams attitude, but save the accolades & the comparison with Moyes until he's finished his PL apprenticeship.

Coyle was flavour of the month last season, even Martinez was getting mentioned as someone who'd be better for EFC than Moyes.....I don't hear many calling for them to replace 'dour Davie' now....

TB,

Fair points there, although i dont think Hull played football like Swansea.
Wasnt Davie a bright young thing many moons ago?
Any way my main point was the football we are having to endure, who would you say plays more attractive football Everton or Swansea?

CE - Swansea are playing more attractive football at the minute, that's a fact.

However, despite our current form I'd say Moyes has had us playing just as attractive winning football, whilst looking far less vunerable at the back than Swansea do - AT TIMES during his tenure (notably the 2nd half of the 9/10 season)

Don't forget that for most of the Swansea players this season is the highlight of their career & they'll be giving him a couple of % more than he ought to be getting out of them, as literally every week is a 'cup final' for them in the PL.

Having said all of that, when Moyes moves on, if Rodgers is still doing what he's done so far this season, we should definitely have him on the shortlist.

Tb,

To be honest,i can only remeber a handful of games when we played football like that under Moyes,Aston Villa away 2-3 seasons stands out as a day we played the best football i had seen from an Everton team for many a year.
Imo David has gone more and more cautious in consecutive seasons .
Each to their own mate,it`s all about opinions
