Henrik I agree. If i wanted to hear about loads of trials that go nowhere, I'd read The Digger
An actual signing is ALOT more newsworthy. But apparently the dignified way is to get the dotted line signed without anyone having any idea talks were underway. Pure dignity
How many Central defenders are Celtic going to buy before they get one thats actually good enough for the first team? This lad had long enough at Bolton to prove himself and failed.
Rangers needed a new centre of defence at teh start of the season. We went out and got Goian and Bocanegra. Solid as you like.
Thats how you do business.
But no - you are more concerned with the fact that the club losing the player dont have a gobby bitter manager trying to raise some funds for his lad in jan rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the season or the payer doesnt have a devious agent thats trying to raise publicity for his player by talking to the press.
Aye well done.
Duke - maybe when you come down you'll read your posts on this article and cringe
come down to where?

why do you think they ignore it?
Goian ...solid as you like. Don't be so sure...i think you are being too easily impressed mate. He looks well dodgy to me. No Colin Jackson there mate.
To be honest, I don't care what is more newsworthy in their opinion. Because in my opinion, signing someone is much more newsworthy than taking someone on trial. Unless of course, it is a well known player on trial.
Most Celtic supporters, will not agree what the Scottish Press regard as newsworthy, because a lot of us do not care what that industry has to say. I am happy that Celtic tied up their deal quickly, because it keeps the focus on the team. However, I do not know what dignity has to do with anything, if all you are doing is asking a player to join your club. The only thing undignified would be if you signed him illegally.
why do you think they ignore it?

Oh let me think - maybe cos the bright sparks that make up the Scottish football media were over Govan way listening to Sally talk crap about the next trialist, while Celtic were discretely getting on with business, but hey its just a thought

The goals against column suggests they are doing pretty well. We have conceded fewest goals in the SPL.
I will take Boca and Goian over any two from Celtics list of centre backs they have on their books any day of the week.

Henk,
stop talking sense.
Apparantly this is a perfoect opportunity for petty point scoring over Rangers. All more evidence that Celtic football club, its employees and fans are all simply better people in everything they do compared to their rivals from across the city.
You need to keep up buddy.
Magnum - agree re Goian...deservedly walked against St. Mirren (done twice - pure & simple) and should have walked v St.Johnstone ( doesn't even look at the player - takes him out - 2nd yellow surely)....not as good as many on here would have you believe!
Coach Taylor.
It is none of your business how many centre backs we have. No matter how many we have Celtic will pay their wages and their taxes. We don't need any advice regarding paying wages and taxes from a bear.

I am perfectly allowed to comment on anything I want in scottish football - is that not the idea of a football forum?
Who mentioned wages or taxes?
Talk about obsessed.
