When I say defence is SOLID. With Cahill, we also got Chalobah, and Luiz will get better, and bertrand, ivanovic right back, and with Romeu and now Essien back in front, thats a strong defence no matter what MOTD says.

Piazon is a AM, and a season or two away from being ready for the premier league. Davila is AM/CF kind of player. We need width LW, so Mata plays in the hole. and a proper right back (Azpilicueto maybe) and to give Bertrand a time at left back.
Kalou, Malouda, Drogba, Hillario, Mikel, Ferriera, Bosingwa should all be gone by the end of the season.
We can perform well Kenyon trust me, I think its confidence.
On paper its not a bad defence. We will improve and that right back looks a good choice too.
Piazon is a Kaka, and yeah he needs time I agree.

Get that back four out on a consistent basis = cleansheets and thats the beggining, middle and the end of it

we are getting closer in turnning the ship around and the future will be bright, next season we will be a very different outfit.
AVB does have his work cut out, but if he forfils his agenda and makes the changes , i believe we will be challenging next season at home & abroard.
1, turn Torres around.
2, use Lampard, Essein,Terry & Cole in the same SAF would at utd.
3, ship out , Boswinga,Ferriara,Malouda,Kalou and Drogba,
4, add quailty to the defence,midfield & striking areas.
5, Get a better policy underway for the reservers and youth developement.
Last but not least bring in a top quality director of football.
IMO if the club does these things we will be hot.
Think you need to give Cole a kick in the ass, he looks far too comfortable. If he feared getting dropped he might play a bit better. Exactly the same as we need to with Evra

Luiz made his name at Benfica originally as a left back so i think this could work.
I like that but I DO like Bertrand. I do like Luiz CB too, but I think I may be alone seeing him as the next Pique.
I disagree.Our defence isn't stable and our midfield lacks pace.Our manager can be tactically naive and we have a 33 year old Drogba and a misfiring Torres.How will one to two good players sort out our team?
I am a realistic Chelsea fan and I am not deluded.
We are still far away from getting a squad that can compete for the title.
- We have no striker that can score goals regularly unlike our rivals who have Aguero, Rooney, Van Persi, etc
- We need a new RB. Ivan is good but we need someone who can attack
- We need a new LB, Cole seems lost and our manager doesn't seem to trust Bertrand
- We also need a creative midfielder, someone who can keep hold of the ball and pick a pass out.
- We need a left sided winger, which will allow Mata to shift to the centre.
- Plus we need to get rid of the dead wood like Fereira, Bosingwa, Hilario, Malouda and Kalou. Also wouldn't mind seeing Drogba and Essien moving on.
- We will also need some decent squad players

Yes I do like Bertrand but he needs to be groomed as a replacement for Ashley Cole and Luiz always makes mistakes as a defender.Ivanovic has not been as good as he used to be previously and Bosingwa always has been poor defensively and despite his pacy attacks he rarely delivers a good cross though he was good at the start of this season.

Apart from 06/07 and 09/10 when Drogba went on a mad one we havent had that since Hasselbaink.
What we need to do is the same thing we did in the summer of 2004, show the door to most if not all the players 32 or over like we did to Desailly and co that summer. Lampard, Malouda and Drogba moving on will help the younger players "spread their wings" a bit more.

Somebody posted the other day a quote from Cole about how Bertrand (i think) will be challenging for his place in a few seasons, it even annoyed me at how certain he was about his place
Yeah he said that sometime last year,arrogance and I hate that.
I think he said something along the lines of If I(Cole) get injured then that's when Bertrand will get his chance. No player should be untouchable If there not performing well simple
Cole cannot deal with pacey/tricky wingers anymore
