Thinking of starting either Ripper Street or Peaky Blinders, which one's more worth it?
Hear great things about Peaky Blinders
Seen both and Peaky Blinders is so much better than Ripper Street that, apart from both being BBC drama productions, they're not really comparable.
Peaky Blinders has an on going storyline, whereas Ripper Street seems more episodic - so perhaps easier to dip in and out of - both my main problem with it was I just didn't find the central character, Inspector Reid, believable.
Peaky Blinders is much grittier, has a great cast - Cillian Murphy is excellent - and has the added bonus of a great soundtrack.
One final thing to note, Ripper Street was dropped by the BBC after two series and is now being produced by Amazon. Not sure how you plan on watching it though, (legally or otherwise).
It's not rubbish, but if you were to only be choosing between the two, there' really is no contest.
Ripper Street is more fun, and Home Jackson is a cool character but Peaky Blinders is a much, much classier show and will stand the test of time.
Watched a decent British film over the weekend called Broken (2012) with Tim Roth and actually Cillian Murphy too.
I think it was based on a book and you can tell, the film is nothing fancy just a well written story and almost has an understated Mike Leigh feel to it at times.

The Kingsmen
Was decent for about an hour, then the storyline got so weak, the ending was awful, so cliche est.
6/10
