Have you seen him play? Not winding you up, I love the bloke, he looked fantastic as a kid when he broke through and has been a great servant but for every stalwart game he has there's a nightmare game. Against a big striker he's as good as you want, against pace or trickery he's a liability. £500k is probably pretty fair, I'd suggest possibly better for us but you can afford it. We'll take it as we're going down even if he stays.
played over 400 games for you, if he was total pants i think it would of been spotted by now...needs a fresh challenge at a ambitious club..no disrespect..
Forest fans must be laughing in their morning coffee!! Half a mill for Wes? Wheres Beadle???
Lloyd - I know he's been at Forest for a long time and he looks always looks like a solid Championship defender - The fact you say that he's good against big players but vulnerable to pace doesn't surprise me much. This is how Nigel Pearson's liked his centre backs in the past though.
I think £500k is pretty fair as well actually. It's no secret that we've spent on players this season and several of our players have blatantly struggled to justify their price tags at times this season (not to mention their reported wages).
The thing that clinches the deal for me is that I understand Morgan's still in his twenties. Whether he could make the step up to the Premiership (which is what we're aiming for even though we're hardly close at present) is another matter.
he was voted into the team of the year last year by his peers..but what do they know?

Why is he going to Leicester then.?

For a fresh challenge at an ambitious club?
forest and sheep fans experts on defenders..
4-0 and 4-0...big experts..
Why are the Sheep disturbers muscling in anyway?? Is non league Nige in for big Wes too or is he going back to Burton Albion for a Centre half?
I checked on the internet for links about his possible transfer and within the first few it took me in to a Forest Forum.
The majority verdict from the first few pages is that they do not want him to leave, and the fact that he got voted one of the two best CBs in the league in 2011 suggests he has quality.
I wonder if this is similar to Jack Hobbs at Leicester. Goes from club player and player's player of the year, to being deemed perhaps not good enough by some Leicester fans within the space of a season.
What are Forest's fans views on why he got in to the 2011 team of the year and is now being ridiculed by some Trees - Was it just a one-off great season? Has he literally gone from great to awful? Is he just taking the brunt of the fans' frustration this year?
All the plastics have come out to play.
Wes Morgan What a signing this is gonna be!!
Strange one this. Is he going to be happy being third choice to behind Mills and Bamba or does this spell the end for Bamba in the first team?
I can see the merits if bringing someone in as first choice but I can't help but feel Morgan is a bit like St L. Too good for the bench bit not good enough to start. That only spells disaster!
Unless Pearson is looking to bench Bamba, which is a possibility and one that I'd not be disappointed by!
I feel if we get him, he'd be in for the big bruising centre forwards games, and Bamba would be in for the Pacey forwards.
I know he will obviously be able to go on a free in the sumer, but do Forest have a better replacement or will they be able to get a better replacement in for 500k/£1m who they can offer an attractive wages package to?
If it was us (and we were in the same position and financial situation), I'd prefer to hang on to him and hope he regains some form (if he has lost it? There hasn't yet been any comments about his performances last year in comparison to this) to help keep us in the division, as opposed to selling him and risk having no replacement.
Who's the ambitious Club? Leicester ? Don't make me fu££ing laugh.
we leave making derby fans laugh to none league nigel, and the pride park comedy store..4-0 ...
"played over 400 games for you, if he was total pants i think it would of been spotted by now...needs a fresh challenge at a ambitious club..no disrespect.."
John, show me where I said he was "pants"? In fact I said he was great at first but as he got older and (to put it politely) bigger he's become a liability against pace. He's decent but is available on a free in 6 months so I'd take 500k like a shot. Don't get touchy, you're making yourself sound like a child.
ha, ha.. i will leave forest fans to be touchy, morgan was voted into the championship team of the season, now all of a sudden he's suspect..is john terry quick ? no....you should be happy fleecing us out of the petty cash..its big money for forest.
Morgan is poor but if Leicester...sorry KingPower...want to waste more money then no better waste than that . I wonder how much Leicester will have to spend to get into the top half of the Championship
Reason we're not sniffing round any of the Direby players is they are all 2nd rate ex Burton Albion players trying to clog their way in front of a crowd that get free season tickets with their mobile phones!
Best way to judge a teams support is the away support and Direbys is very poor, 1000 to Leicester and 700 to Cov. Says it all really.
