villas boas is an idiot he just comes over here and wants to start messing with the tradition and deep football pyramid that we have here.

because he is upset chelsea youth system is so shyyyte and hes not good enough to bring the kids through.

he hadnt come out with any nonsense for a while but hes back at it again it seems.

It wouldnt be for the youth players though, it would end up with the players who couldn't make it into the 1st team

Reserve team football has been dwindling recently

It would just allow rich teams to "stockpile" players more than they do so already.

The big club youth teams aren’t producing players anymore. Who was the last player to come through an academy and establish himself in the first team at…
United…Flecther/Wellbeck?
City….Richards?
Liverpool….Gerrard????
Chelsea……Terry????
They spend millions on youth academies and poach the best players from the lower leagues so what’s happening to them?

Would you be able to swap injured players from your A team with fit players from your B team? That would just be like having a 50 man squad. But if you couldn't swap them why are you paying them?

it would just be like in spain. barca b.

they cant get promoted to the primera liga no matter how good they are.

and its two separate squads. they are effectively recognised as two completely different football clubs for all intents and purposes.

The trickle of kids from the academy has started.
The Europa stuff was just a bonus.

We shall see in say 3 yrs whether the likes of Fergies mid 90s kids appear as fixtures.

Maybe if the idea came from someone whose been in the EPL for a long time and has an understanding of football culture in Britain then it might be worth considering, but AVB has been here for 5 minutes and is already trying to change the football system.
