sing his name when he got rid of billy i dont think so
I know he was the one to put us in this mess, but realistically, he's the only one that can sort it...
Doughty made so many mistakes during his time that you have to wonder if he isn't a Derby fan, because his actions prove that he certainly isn't a Forest fan.
Good old Agent Doughty eh!
Seriously though, when Doughty resigned didn't he say that he would prepare the club for FFP? If so, does that mean that he will honour the contracts of the players he signed therefore leaving you truely debt free.
You should then be in an ideal position of living within your means without a company trying to make a profit from you.
I'd love that at Derby.
yes doughty made mistakes. But he wouldnt be chairman, clark would, dooughtys money, frank clark decides how to spend it, along with cotterill and marthur...
If ND is the Forest fan he says he is, don't you think he should still be helping us out instead of staying away? But why the hell should he?
People have conveniently forgotten that when he took over we were almost in the same position that Darlington currently find themselves. He saved us from that and ok he has (by his own admission) made some pretty awful decisions.
Well I'm sorry but you reap what you sew. Him & his family were abused and hounded out. You wanted him out & now he's gone you're still bleating because he's not prepared to dig deeper still. Tough luck.
Ok things are grim at the moment but you're either a proper fan or you're a band wagon jumper. If you're a proper fan, get behind the manager & the team regardless of who or where we're playing. If you're not, go & support Man Utd or Chelsea.
Be grateful you've still got a team to follow. Remember, you could be at Darlington.

RFBBBB - forest are still over spending. Doughty will be picking up that tab until those on high wages that he signed leave the club or Forest re negotiate their contracts. If you want Doughty gone now, then who will pick up that bill?
How much do Forest make through tickets and merchandise? With all the talk of Doughty's money you'd think it was the only source of income. How is our tiny squad costing all those millions?
The club needs to be run on a sound business and football basis. That is never going to happen until he goes, properly and completely and takes his friend with him.
That requires continued pressure from the little shareholders, that is the fans to force him out.
There is a subtle campaign taking place right now on this forum to rehabilitate the idiot!
To answer your point Iwas, I would be happy for the three expensives to either be paid up and off, or align themselves with the squad wage structure.
ND was talking about a push for promotion only a few short months ago. Now perhaps that was bluster to cover up Billys sacking, while obviously telling McWally a string of porkies. This is sending the fans like naughty children to stand in the corner while threatening the naughty stick. If he is allowed to stick around he will eventually try to reinvent himself! Just wait and see!
Theres 11 players out there that could make the difference to start with.
dont you think?
How much is Doughty looking for for the club?
25 mil from what i can gather
Derby own their own ground Iwas
Derby were also sold as a prem club. With the parachute payments they would of been amongst the favourites to go back up.
Iwas, but the debt will be paid off in the next couple of years if you believe Glick !.People also believe him every year when he says we will spend on the spine of the team, never happens though (excluding the fees from departing players, saving on wages etc).
Forest won't be getting a new manager if the appointment this week means anything, they can either lay down and die,or support their club.
How can you slate someone who has spent £60 million on your club ?
I think ND has had the best intentions of the club at heart but has put his trust in the wrong people over the years. First of all he gave a fortune to an untried manager (Platt) on his reputation as a former England player, it actually started ok under Platt, on paper the Italians looked good signings and we got Ian Wright on loan but of course the Italians flopped and Ian Wright got a permanent deal at Celtic.
He then, of course, put Marthur in as Chief Exec, this man could probably start an arguement in an empty room. Going on about players of clubs in a similar situation to us and who did not need to sell, that their players were desperate to leave them to come to us is hardly the best way to promote the kind of co-operation and goodwill need to do business with them. In fact after that very few teams seemed to want to do any business with us.
