I think Modric wants bigger wages, and I think he wants to play for a a top team. Not saying you're not a top team, but u get what I mean.

He wants bigger wages, and they're looking to fix that...and he's always said he wants to improve himself.

That said, bearing in mind you crashed out of the CL this year and Chelsea's dodgy form it must be in the back of his mind he's better off staying where he is and building on what we've achieved this year...or moving to one of elite teams on the continent.

I've no doubt if Levy decides to cash in, he'd be a lot happier selling to anyone but a direct PL rival unless he can max the amount he makes here.

If I was him I'd stay at Spurs for the next 2-3 years. You look like decent title challengers and you never know, the title may go to North London's biggest club in 2 years time

I agree Spurminator.

But do you believe Modric's version of events about a gentlemans agreement?

Dunno, it's his word against Levy's....and the only fact that really matters is that it didn't count for much in the summer whether it's true or not.

Dont be fooled. PL football Chairmen and CExecs are ruthless business men. Don't think they would know what a Gentleman's Agreement is.

Any future agreements would be wrapped up in pink ribbon. The last Gentleman's that United had was with Gazza! (Tevez also thought he had one with United).

I agree with Arab. If I was from Croatia and had no affiliation with any particular top club then I would stay at Spurs.

Redknapp has done a great job there and has an excellent team now. Why would somebody leave a project like that unless they were being offered stupid money...

The thing is that for as well as Spurs have done, would anybody be surprised if they finished 5th next season? Yes they have been good, but are they an established top team who have the money to keep them at the top?

A bit like NUFC in the 90's, yes they were good, but who really expected them to challenge on a long term basis?

Even Liverpool under Wafa, yes they were good and ran us close in 2009, but the next season they didn't even make top 4.

I think so. I dont think that they have over-achieved with the players they have and its not like they need a serious overhaul in the summer to replace ageing players.

The only way they will go backwards is if they lose Redknapp to the England job over the summer.

First comment for Captain idiocy. Utd spent over £50m in the summer. The Glazers sanctioned it. Why do you consistently make stupid statements.

Hizmo and I rarely agree on anything but he's desceibed Modric down to a tee. For example, was he on the pitch today?

Modric is an overrated player and the only way I would accept him at Utd is if we signed him on a free
