Welcome
I have been speaking to Alan Nixon about this. He says that a fee is agreed with the selling club and we are talking.hoping to talk with the player about his personal terms.
Unfortunately, he is away on Africa Nations duty at the moment so it may be difficult to get a medical done etc etc. Nixon seems confident and we have at least got past the first hurdle in agreeing a fee.
I know nothing of the player but believe Guinea are on telly tomorrow night, so will try to get a look at him there.
Also, Gio Dos Santos is close to a fee being agreed and we are waiting on a work permit for Tim Ream.
I've heard of him before, and he's pretty good. Really skilful and pretty quick. Can be inconsistent infront of goal though.
i'm quite exited about Ream. think hes got a lot of potential.
I hope we dont spend too much on dos santos, in my oppinion his worth around £4m.
on youtube, bangoura looks alert, quite a few of his goals come from him reacting before the defence. i think he will be a good addition to our squad.
Welcome!
Apparently he was first choice before Elmander as Megson's big signing. He has brilliant goal scoring records at whatever club he's been and has commanded a high value when transferred. He's proven in Europe and as you said looks very tricky on youtube. As we all know that means nothing but the fact he's doing neat footwork on the videos and not just a montage of his goals gives me hope that he has some real skill. Apparently he's very fast as well. If all this is true, we're on to a winner...hopefully.
Welcome to JA606, Ma. Nothing will be happening shortly.

looks like megson was an admirer. thats the only thing that worries me.
Fail.
Megson had a great track record in the transfer market.
Hate to admit it but Megson was far better than
Coyle in the transfer market most of his signings were great apart from Rasiak
He put a good scouting system in place i'll give him that.
i think megsons assistant was the one who found the players { his name ecapes me at the moment } garside asked him to stay ,but he was loyal to megson.i think he's now wasted at the wendys
i admit he bought in some great players, but he also got a lot of rubbish ones aswell.
i.e.
Tamir Cohen
Danny Shittu
Mustapha Riga
It was Chris Evans... The legend who told I to buy mark Davies... For only £500k.
Megson did sign some good players, but he signed alot of howlers. He had extraordinary money to spend and did ok. Coyle has had nothing to spend and has done ok under the circumstances. We paid £2m for Shittu and £2m for Wheater. Who would you prefer?
c.hris evans megsons assistant he could find gems but megson didnt know what to do with them, mark davies was one
Chris Evans was Wolves' academy manager and Megson's mate.
He recomended Mark Davies and Mark Connelly to Megson as he thought they were the pick of the Wolves' crop of youngsters.
He got one right so far.
Robot...
IF your right, i will be VERY happy with this transfer window
Welcome MA_BWFC.
Of the 3 names you mention above only Shittu commanded any real sort of fee.
Cohen cost us about £70k because we just paid off his contract, whilst Riga was a free transfer.
Both were worth a punt even if they didn't turn out that well, although I'd argue Cohen wasn't that bad.
Don't get me wrong, I was one of the first and most vocal calling for Megson to resign/be sacked/jump off a cliff, however he was fairly good in the transfer market.
Lets not forget some of the bad signings Big Sam made.
Riga did arrive with a good reputation in fairness to him he never got a run of games in the team to get up any kind of form or get used to the English game.
If Megson had one real plus point it was he knew how to spot talent. He just had no idea how to use it. He'd be a cracking chief scout at any club imo. That's not a joke or a dig in any way at the man.
riga is now playing in the spanish 2nd division he has played 10 games no goals
I said the same thing when he was in charge of us LPP.
Would have been a cracking individual to have around in a chief scout/director of football sort of role where the manager could go to him and tell him which positions he was looking to strengthen in the coming window and Megson and his team could then compile a list of suitable players for the Manager to have a closer look at.
Would never have worked at our club though as he'd have always resented the person who came in to take "his" job.
So, we could sign this Bangoura, but not see him till the middle of Feb, because of African Cup committments?
Word from Nixon about a mystery player we're in for.
@reluctantnicko This mystery target we're bwfc after what position does he play, and when will mirror/people publish it? Cheers for ur time
Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko
@Matt_Wood34 Midfield. There's a plan being worked on. Tasty one.
On top of Ream, Gio, Bangoura, Le Toux and the back up of Phillips this sounds very promising.

Sounds about as vague as a morning paper star sign prediction!
He's keeping it under wraps which I for one am glad about. Any transfer that get's leaked is less stable as a result. The fact he's calling it "a tasty one" and he's not running it would suggest the club a pretty keen to keep this under wraps and it's nice if this is the case to see Nixon respect it.
