with the strikers they have it will not hurt Man city at all unless they pick up injurys
We are the ones who should got the advantage from it
Never mind, we blew the game ourselves with Defoe miss and BAE keeping ball in when going out for our throw
The guy is a loose Cannon and im convinced if he was not good at football he would be a gangster bullying people
I understand the point being made – it is frustrating. But practically what do you think is a solution? It’s not like you can take away the points from City and award them to Spurs is it?
Goals wrongly disallowed, goals wrongly allowed, fouls unpunished… it’s extremely annoying but what can be done?
It is a hard one to provide justice for.
Often retrospective bans can benefit the offended against teams rivals more than themselves, so justice is far from served.
Both teams should be able to contest 2 decisions a game and refer it to 4th official
Would off taken 10 seconds for decision to come through
The ref can decide games and its open to fixing as far as im concerned.

It`s time for technology to be embraced. How long would it have taken for somebody watching on TV to have conveyed to Webb that both Lescott and Balotelli were straight red cards. Seconds, not even minutes. Not hard is it.
City would have been down to 9 men then, and clearly the advantage would have then been with Spurs.
The match was delayed for treatment to parker for 3 minutes so plenty of time to make a decision
Would like to see king get a ban for a potential
Leg breaking tackle.
MrMortimer is right. There's no point dwelling on it, in a "feeling hard done by" capacity. The more you think about it, you'll send yourself bonkers.
Let City worry about it & just move on...
If it evened out i would not mind , but we would be top without unfair wrong decisions this season
Cityblueloz
Ledley booked once in ten yrs, Balotteli in the news every week ,
My personal feeling is that bans like this should be 2 parters. in a situation like this, where he is facing a 4 game ban, that would be his next 3 games and then the final game of the ban would be the next game against spurs.
Lets replay the last 10 mins again

Defoe had a great game and brought us back into the game with a very cool finish. He did nothing wrong for the one at the end - the pass just wasnt within his reach.
wearethefamous,
I'm not suggesting things like these even themselves out but i have seen games this season where some of our players were fortunate not to pick up a 2nd yellow. Off the top of my head, i'm not sure how Sandro stayed on the pitch in our 3-1 victory at West Brom.
He got booked early & made at least 2 or 3 second bookable offences (in my eyes), in the 1st half alone.
I know this is not the same as a stamp, but if all clubs wanted some kind of compensation for missed yellow/red cards, where would football end up?
VictorGooner, in an ideal world, maybe.
was not blaming defoe, just called it a miss, 99 times out of 100 Bale and him get it right and we score

G&S,
I think Webb issued Lescott with a "wildcard" before KO, which made him immune to any caution.
Vic, the problem with that is a player may never serve his ban. If the game is in the second half of the season and one of the teams is then relegated/promoted, then what happens to that last game?

i see your point - perhaps in that situation it would be the first game of the next season or something....
We should be given an extra football to try and score with for every that's not been given against us. Multi-ball
Wearethefamous – If you think it’s open to fixing at the moment would it not be equally so with a fourth official making decisions? Also – I don’t think referring an incident to a fourth official would work… since there would still be controversy. What if the incident on Parker happened after you had used the 2 calls?
Sandy – undoubtedly Spurs would have had the advantage if the two had been sent off – and I think that both should have been red. The referee called it wrong and that has affected the result. The trouble with video technology is that even then wrong decisions are made. I think people have an image of everything being clear with video technology but unfortunately it isn’t. The incidents in the game on Sunday were pretty clear cut, and yet still some pundits (Lee Dixon) are saying that it wasn’t a red and give the player the benefit of the doubt. What about the controversy of handballs… or offsides… where the interpretation of referees is radically different from game to game? There will still be controversy even with video referees. Or what about bookings for repetitive fouls? Does there have to be a specific number? What if Parker does five fouls in five minutes and gets booked but then doesn’t foul again – whilst Barry does five over the whole match and isn’t shown a yellow. Would that not be an inconsistency still?
Having said that I think for incidents like those on Sunday the referee should be able to ask for something to be reviewed afterwards because he didn’t see it at the time. That won’t make up for things he has missed during the game, but it will make punishment of dangerous fouls more complete. I don’t understand how Lescott hasn’t been charged!
Is it a media thing? Mario is an easy target isn’t he? Don’t get me wrong I know it was a red card – but I wonder if Defoe had scored and Spurs had won the game whether he would still be getting a four game ban. I seem to remember Rooney elbowing someone and not receiving a retrospective punishment. At the moment there doesn’t seem to be any consistency even in the banning process.
I think part of the reason that the FA did not charge Lescott was that it would belittle & expose our supposedly top referee to ridicule going into Euro2012.
As for a team being relegated, any suspensions that have not been served carry over into the following season irrespective of which division the player is in. It's the FA and not the PL or Football League who discipline players.
