Dos Santos Vs Phillips: More for our Money?

Spurs fans that I asked reckon that Dos Santos only turns up in about one match in five, is lazy and has the fattest arze in world football today.

We should avoid him.

Coyle should also steer clear of C'ship players because he thought they were a bit of alright against him when he was at Burnley.

We should be looking for someone better than Matt Taylor surely?

Very interesting article. I think I'd be happy with either of them.

Is that the price for Phillips? I thought the price was in excess of £5m which is why we are a tad reluctant.

Is this the same Phillips who is at Southampton and has been on Twitter slagging of his club saying he is only playing/training because of someone called Nicola (the chairwoman)?

Sounds like another Joey Barton in the making.

Personally I would rather save our money.

aaron - That Phillips you're on about is actually Jason Puncheon, so don't worry

Not seen much of Phillips apart from the hattrick he scored against Fleetwood. Think they want a lot more than 2 million for him though.

Oh dear *hangs head in shame*

..so yeah about this Phillips fella, I would sign him up in a shot......

Saw him in person playing at Bramall Lane against Bradford in the JPT and scored a cracker that night. He's a good player, but I wouldn't want to pay more than around £3m as he's not PL-proven

Dos Santos has skill, just see his goal in last year's Gold Cup Final for Mexico, but he doesn't score that many it seems. Seems lazy too as mentioned

I suppose you don't know until they pull on a Bolton shirt...

You would imagine Phillips would give more to the cause than Dos Santos, coming up from the lower leagues and wanting to prove himself.

Unlike Gio Dos who probably walk into bolton thinking he has already made it by playing at Spurs and Barca.

I dont think either of these guys would set the world alight for us, better to keep the cash.

win nothing with wingers.i would prefer another quality central midfielder.remember how our season finished when holden and mavies were injured?muamba couldnt cope on his own and was partnered by the likes of cohen and gardner. fast forward a month and say nrc and mavies get injured and holden is not back then we are in the same boat.

Sean Davis is back though supposed to be going out on loan this week to an unnamed championship team probably Portsmouth i reckon for a months loan to build up game time.
Quality player and it may have turned out different for Megson if Davis had not been injured after 3 games.

good luck to davis if he can get back to what he was,but i cant help thinking if he does go out on loan that will be the last we here of him as he is out of contract at end of season and i imagine a big wage earner.also he probably wont get named in the 25 man squad as we named 24 in sept and will be adding lee to that list.

Would anyone be surprised if we got neither? I mean last Saturday aside we are desperate for some new blood yet it seems like we are unable to do more than one deal at once.

We've got 4-5 deals in pipeline ATM, but it not just down to us wanting someone..

So you are saying that a lack of quality players can affect a teams performance to the point of relegation now?

I asked Nixon re: squad registration the other day and he said we 'can shuffle', obviously we have a spare and cahills departure so that's 2, I think one of the five is 'for the future' anyway so probably under 21... not sure how we'll fit the other 2 in though, maybe someone like Gardner or Blake will be unregistered

According to reports, Dos Santos is in advanced talks with Villarreal, his much preferred destination being Spain, however they might not have the cash to agree a fee with Spurs.

On top of this Nixon says Phillips no longer available. This seems odd to me. He's at a Championship club, how can he not be available?

woody -blackpool -- have stated they dont need to sell.

That's about 25 players that Nixon has named that are coming to the Reebok that haven't.

This 'journalism' lark's a bit easy.

Just name 3 players a day who are worth 5mil or under and you're bound to get one right some time
