closest thing to a tongue I could find
I thought he was a good skilful player but if you look at the team clough is building its not that type of player. Not the right type I think
who would he replace in the starting XI?
would he be an improvement?
he would presumably only want to go on loan to somewhere he would get a defo start everyday....
Don't they stll eat Tonge sandwiches in Barnsley...
I used to like him when he played in the hole.
old one I know
^^^
If we signed him we'd have THESE jokes every week...he's better off goin' Barnsley
lets face it, he was never coming to Derby, this was just a link due to his past connections.
Just read that Stoke should secure the signing of Simon Cox who isn't cup tied and could play on sat.

Not sure about this. If we did sign someone like Tonge - unless it was as a replacement for Green - it would mean Hendrick would spend the next 2/3 years mostly on the bench.
Now, if it were a genuine 'midfield general' we were signing I'd think 'ok, price worth paying', but TBH Tonge wasn't *that* good. I think he was made to look a bit special by the other donkeys we had playing for us back then, but now I think he'd just look average in our team - plus I'd be a bit worried about his work-rate.
