To me VDV is the most technically gifted player I've seen at Spurs. The best player in my eyes since Klinsmann. Before that I am too young to comment on the likes of Hoddle.

Some of his moves, passes, goals, vision is fantastic to watch, I would say at times genius (ironically I just had to look up how to spell it - mornings ) however with that comes its own issues.

VDV sometimes reminds me of Spike Milligan, there is trouble behind the genius, always wanting to do that one thing extra special that causes issues. With Spike it was depression, with VDV its sometimes being trying to hard and making mistakes (the first game that pops into my mind was the home leg against FC Twente, where he got sent off just because he was too up for the game).

This Tottenham team wouldn't have been the same without him, same as comedy wouldn't have been the same without Spike. Its only because they want to be the best that problems occur.

For the moments of being a joy to watch I can put up with the moments of crazyiness.

Sometimes I think we should mix up the team a bit more and rotate players, like others have said playing 2 up front instead of 1-1, bringing on VDV for the later stages of the game. Harry seems set in his ways with players and subs though. At the same time, this is still our best season in my time as a Spurs supporter so what do I know.

With reference to him going to Utd, I can't see it being more than journalism trash. The fans moan about Berbatov's lack of team play and effort, I think they would have similar issues with VDV. I can't see where he would fit in with their style of play. This is just another piece of trash journalism. At least though it shows us that we have quality players if nothing else.

Good comment 31 moments Hes really is brilliant on his day I dunno it just frustrates me that even when injured he seems to play. He calls all the shots by the looks of things, now maybe that was part of why he agreed to come here i dont konw?

I wonder sometimes if its a case of awe amongst the players, they also know that he can do something special and maybe let him have the final say. When you look at some of the other players we have a lot of them are still young and I wonder if they just don't speak up enough at times.
