He did a few interviews recently, but strangely no one asked him when he is due back

Good news then, after recent games i would rather have Sandro in there than Parker

I think Parker has done an excellent job, but I think Sandro just gives a bigger presence in the middle, and he is the future rather than, Parker.

Sandy - No doubting Parker has done a good job for us, but he has been running on empty for the last 3 or 4 games, with Sandro he is a box to box kind of player and can join in with our attacks and as you say, he is very much the future

Parker gives it everything, its not a suprise that he's a little bit tired, he does need a rest. He had a rough year last year then straight into us and has done so much.

Good shout RRP - I will have to admit to paying more attention to Parker, there's a few West Ham fans at work that I love to keep telling them how well Parker has done for us, even though he cost the same as 1 metre of a crouch. It seems to make them angry for some reason.

1 metre of a Crouch

To be fair, i was dead against us signing Parker, firstly i didnt think he was good enough and i was concerned it would take Sandro out of the picture...half of that might be coming true

Problem is playing Sandro And Parker together, where does that leave Modric, on the right?

As long as Harry has Sandro in his plans, then im happy

Agreed to a certain extent when playing at home, but away from home, as has been the case for most of the season, makes us extremely strong. And with a good solid base, Spurs can then spring forward with lightening attacks from both Bale and Lennon.

Agreed Sandy, its just trying to fit everyone in...never a bad thing to have so many good players to try and fit in, but sometimes it seems like we concentrate on the midfield too much and dont focus on actually scoring the goals...love the fact we have Bale and Lennon on the wings, but has Ade scored a header for us? 5% of out goals this season have been headers, to have such good wingers who can cross the ball thats a poor return

When CERN start measuring gravity distortions from the UK, Sandro is up and running.

I think with Sandro's injuries the signing was a good one, but I agree with you that it's important that Sandro isn't forgotten about, but I don't think he will be. Its certainly the position that we have the strongest back up. For the tougher away games I like the idea of both of them playing, and then rotating them in the home games depending on who we are playing.

This all boils down to VDV again, as in tough away games I'd be tempted to play.

Ade
Bale Modric Lennon
Parker Sandro

Yet, that means leaving VDV out, and if Ade's not fit then Defoe isn't a loan striker and the problem begins again.

31M - I was only worried about Sandro as there was a lot of interest in him over the summer, and reportedly Man City did approach us for him but we rejected any talks

I just think we should be building for the future, and Parker wont be around in a few years time, same goes for Brad, Defoe and of course Ade, we need to start building now and Sandro is part of that

Im never in favour of dropping VDV, he holds the ball so well and is one of the reasons why we dominate possession

I think Sandro is perfect for Euro games.
Because he stays on his feet ( <RayWilkins> ) more when he tackles, he does not incur the antics.

Who remembers Boateng at WHL and his perpetual diving cos he could not escape Sandro gravity ??

Whereas Parker is spot on for yer typically gritty PL business.
Next season, with likely CL, I think you will see much better rotation of the pair in various matches. And tis how it should be. I would like a bit more competition/variation for places, so the manager can select various line ups for various opponents.

Parker only cost £5m...or in new money 0.14 Carrolls

Thats a ponytail then.

Boateng

You would think that if we did have CL football that rotation would be forgot about all together RDBD! I cant see Harry wanting to bring in other players, it would always be our strongest 11...

And this is the problem, i would only want to rotate players if we had good enough players to rotate on the bench..at the moment we are not even close

How do you know ??
The first Sandro game I saw he was utter s-h-i-t-e.
The second, I thought I can see what he might be about.
The third, .

What is to say that other players are not there (Rose, Livermore etc) just awaiting a bit more game time to find their level ??

Not everyone on the Spurs bench is Gio.

There is no doubting Parker's work rate, but sometimes thats not enough for me, but your right, having both Sandro and Parker gives us great options..just wish they were both fit at the same time

I just like the way Sandro gets involved in both the defensive duties but will also get forward and offers us another route to goal

RDBD with his digs on Gio

But Sandro was an unknown quantity, we all know what Niko, Bassong, Pienaar, Pav, Rose and Livermore can do, and that is usually our bench..i wouldnt say we have anywhere near enough quality to rotate a CL squad (if we make it )

posted on 26/1/12

I have to agree with RDBD there, I was at Sandro's first game and I had to wonder just what we had bought, glad I was proved wrong.

Gio.
His time has come and gone. Wish him well elsewhere.
