Big Wes....

Have always liked Wes and surprised he is leaving Forest. Won't he be cup tied for the weekend though ?

Seems like a very odd signing as surely he'll only be back up? Pearson should suck up his pride and remove SSL from the transfer list and if he does then I can't see Morgan getting in ahead of him, Mills or Bamba. Either way, it almost certainly means the end of Tunchev. For £1m we've got far more pressing concerns than bringing in another CB...

Maybe SSL still wants to leave

Bamba going "on holiday" has given SSL a chance to show his attributes and put himself in the shop window, we can only assume Pearson has any say in whether the player chooses to stay or go!

Of course, if he played this well previously he'd be first choice anyway!

The only way I could really accept this transfer would be if SSL genuinely wants to leave - this doesn't seem to come across on twitter by things he says.

Otherwise, this is a complete waste of money. Would much prefer a loan from the prem as back up rather than paying 1M for an average player who will most likely moan that he wont get games. If we did go up either this season or next, this guy would not cut it in the prem and therefore does not meet our ambition.

Grrr... rant over.

There are a few possible explanations for this:

1. We're selling Mills and need a replacement (very unlikely)
2. We're selling Bamba or moving him to midfield and need a replacement (also very unlikely)
3. Tunchev's on his way out and we need a 4th centre back (disappointing if we're wasting £1m on something this trivial)
4. St. Ledger's on his way out and we need a replacement (surely the most likely)

If St. Ledger is leaving, then either he isn't forgiven for the Boxing Day incident or talks have broken down between him and Pearson. Quite whose fault this is we don't know, although I can sense John Gee warming up his ranting muscles as I type.

If Radio Leicester are correct, the bid is around the £800k mark with add-ons.

But should we be going for him? I think we can all deduce this means that either Pearson still holds a grudge against St Ledger or the player doesn't trust the manager to give him a proper run in the team. I think the latter is more likely so rather than chance it, he has asked to stay on the list.

Net effect is that the fee for SSL should cover the fee for Morgan and we end up with a traditional defender - but probably somewhat less cultured than what we already have.

If this is the case, I might even start becoming a Bamba fan !

I am a bit suprised at this? we have good centre halfs even if Mills gets banned (again) and an injury to Bamba or Tunch we still could cope. One is definately going IMO.

It wouldn't surprise me if Big Sol was sold to a Prem team...like Blackburn who are about to lose Samba.

I really don't think Sol is NP's cup of tea with his sometimes erratic defending....who knows.

Muzz - You say that, but Pearson has favoured him over St. Ledger, even before the 'incident'. I don't think it's the case that Pearson's looking specifically for no-nonsense hoofers, he's just looking for a good attitude.

If Wes should come to Leicester. Would he sill be cup tied even though Florest are OUT of the cup thanks to our 4-0 win

posted on 28/1/12

No he's not cup tied because he hasn't played in the FA Cup yet this season due to his injury...

Arrrrr Muzz Thanks.
