Snatch their hand off. £1.5m! WOOHOO
I wouldn't sell.
No guarantee that we could get a replacement in and would leave us short up front if Ngog gets an injury.
I know he isn't the player he was and is out of form.
However if our luck turns again and we rack up a few injuries to our strikers.......... well an out of form Davies up front is still better than having to play someone out of position.
I still feel he has a part to play. Let him stay and fight for a new contract, even if it is only a year or two long so he can see out his playing days with us.
i will carry the fat sod there myself for 1.5m
For 1.5 mill I'm afraid we'd have to let him go.
If a replacement couldn't be found in the remaining transfer window time then I'd risk bringing through Eaves or another youth striker to back up Klasnic and Tuncay. N'Gog seems to be fitting into the 4-5-1 better and better so a replacement target man may not be needed.
he's a high wage earner too, 1.5 mill and saving 40 grand a week for 6 months is a bargain and I'd snatch O 'Neill's hand off. Sunderland have been chucking silly money about for years. I'd rather some of it comes our way instead of to the Urinals for a change.

Bit out of order mate.
You may think we should sell but have abit of respect for the guy, he has been brilliant for Bolton since the day he signed, has always played his heart out and along with Nolan was the beating heart of the side that qualified for Europe and gave us those four consecutive top 8 finishes.
Deserves better than being refered to as a "fat sod".
I'm with WF.
We would be left with injury prone Klasnic and the other one who can't score goals.

£1.5m is alot of money.. And I keep thinking sell sell sell....
But we all know it will come down to the last game... 0-0 we need a win to stay up. SKD comes on and shoulder charges the ball & keeper into the net -GOAL we win..
Then suddenly £1.5m is not worth it...
For the first time on 606 I'm not sure on my opinion.. Can I do that??
Mallorca
What do you get for 1½ million quid in the January transfer window?
Nowt.
A six month loan for Daniel Sturridge (Including SKDs wages), 10 goals and survival...
Oh wait, that was last year....
Being certain of your opinion means you're close minded in any walk of life Mallorca. I reckon more uncerainty would be a good thing.
I dont remember Klasnic being injured much to be fair.
And come on, Davies was fat when we signed him...
but thats him now:

Ngog, Tuncay, Klasnic and Le Toux would be our options for the end of season run in...
Elmander was scoring at a better rate than Sturridge until he got moved to midfield to accomodate him.

-------------------------------
WRONG!
Elmander had scored 1 goal in two months when we signed him. 2 goals if you include his goal against York City.
You basing that over 2.5 years bricks or the lucky 4 match run he went on??
Good Point THC....
Actually, was it a good point?
Undecided...
last season Elmander scored 10 in the strikers role up to January & we got 29 pts.
Sturridge scored 8 in that role after January and we got 17 pts.
"Elmander was scoring at a better rate than Sturridge until he got moved to midfield to accomodate him."
Bricks, can you break down that comment mate.. I suspect similar BS to the Megson spending figures here....
Elmander had scored...2 goals in 12 games. I think signing Sturridge was probably the right move.
Seeing as he scored 8 in the next 12.

You never said that the first time... You've moved the posts..
My point was that Chelsea needed to lend us Sturridge more than we needed him.
But you cannot state that Bricks without the other factors.
In January we lost Lee, who was never fully fit again for the whole season due to fatigue.
Holden got a serious injury.
Ricketts got a serious injury.
Elmander wasnt scoring anymore, we needed more fire-power, we got it....but at the same time, our entire team crumbled due to injury and the team lost shape, especially at the back.
And apparently Seeing Sean Davis around the canteen was off-putting for players as it turned out he was still a member of the team despite only have 1 foot.
My point was that Chelsea needed to lend us Sturridge more than we needed him.
-------------------
Thats not true, without him, we would have stopped scoring goals completely.
And also Chelsea didnt want to loan him, he forced the move to Bolton on transfer deadline day saying he was unhappy and he wanted to join Bolton to prove himself.
Sorry Bricks, no idea what point your trying to make, and I ain't sure you know either..
Back to the OP.
With 4 days of the transfer window left, it would be far too risky to sell a tried and tested striker who knows what a relegation battle is all about.
