I'm glad it isn't just me then. I cant wait for the Olympics to be over. I hope we win lots of Gold medals but its all been one expensive waste of time for one & all.

And i hope Seb Coe falls down a well.

My heart sank when it was announced that we'd won it. Basically it was a victory of Blair/Coe marketing over common sense. Since then we've seen allotments and small businesses that were there for hundreds of years concreted over to make way for a giant shopping centre (oh yeah they managed to sneak that one onto the Olympic site). An ancient pub near me that was listed was bulldozed literally overnight. And communities of poor people who haven't got a hope of actually getting a ticket for an event have had their already rough lives inconvenienced even more by having this on their doorstep. And for what? a glorified Sports Day and commercial opportunity.
