What would happen is that Chelsea fans would all be moaning we should have kept Ballack and not bought Ramires, his replacement and that we should have got him instead. What I find funny though is that Ballack would probably start in that midfield for United
He'd start ahead of Lampard in our midfield as well.
This won't happen tho, and we were right to sign ramires when we did (although I'd maybe have kept ballack on as a squad player)
We needed to let go players coming to their mid 30's on 150k a week still do, thats why i dont think Drogba and Lampard leaving this summer would be too tragic long term.
i mean wont be to tragic
we really need a edit comment option on here
I'm not sure if he would start over Lampard. Ballack doesn't start regularly for Leverkusen and they are apparently looking to sell him as they're not happy with his contribution, although his age would obviously play part. I would dread having to rely on a (by the end of this year) 36 year old Ballack and 34 year old Lampard as our dominant midfielders if we stay 4-3-3
I'd be happ for Lampard and Drogba to go this summer, Infact I think it's essential to the club moving forward.
BK - His performances have been better than Lampard this year, it's just that in Germany it isn't seen as a massive deal when he is dropped. I'm not saying I'd want ballack back. no chance, but he's be a slight improvement on Lampard

Exactly, its pizzes me off royally that some say im disrespecting club legends (which they are without question) by saying they should move on, i forgot this is Lampard and Drogba fc and we should play them until their 70 on sky high wages just out of grattitude
Chelsea FC > Any player.
This is how I end up in Torres arguments with people all the time because so many are more worried with his form than the form of the team. Nostalgia has no place, Drogba is maybe my favourite player of all time, but he still needs to move on. Lampard could stay if he is happy to only start 10 games a season and be part of the squad, but do we really want to be paying a squad player 150k a week?

So true, as much as id love Torres to hit top form if he doesn't soon we let him go imo.
I'm not bothered about people wanting him to hit form, I just get annoyed when it's the first thing spoke about after every match.
Anyway, I don't think Ballack will go to Man Utd, If he leaves Leverkusen I think he might go to the USA.

I must admit i find the Torres loving cringeworthy to the extent he is, i was at SB for the Sunderland match and at our end it looked litk Torres's shot went in off the bar then when Lamps was anounced as scorer their were groans like the goal was chalked off
That's exactly the type of thing that really annoys me about the whole Torres love in. Anyway, I promised on another thread not to get into that again! ha

Its different on here, im actually on the same side in this subject haha
I said from moment one that it was a terrible signing of a player in rapid decline. I had a big argument with Kerry Dixon on CTV about it. I said Aguero, Suarez or Falcao would have been far better signings.
People say on here all the time that his pricetag is a hinderance, but if he didn't cost that much he'd have been dropped a long time ago, and if kalou (just for example) had been playing through the middle and playing as badly, nobody would be saying "his movement is sometimes ok"
I just find the praise he gets patronizing in the extreme and it gives off a small club attitude that I don't like to be associated with.
So long as Chelsea play well and succeed I couldn't care less if Torres scores another goal for us.
