Great news if he does but I won't count my Smiths until we get him registered (Monday?). Welcome to Milton Keynes.

Would be great to have someone like Smith (A) in the team. But we still someone who can put 20 goals away a season - as well as a winger and cover in the defence - so not sure he solve those issues - but would love to see him here - always worked his socks off at any of the clubs he was at

I wouldn't get your hopes up. He is dreadful now. He played cm on his limited appearence last year and was decent in the championship but for £60k a week he is dreadful. Anyways I thank him for his service to us in the Championship and wish him and you guys all the best.

ying a small cut of his £60,000 wages. And he has rejected offers from Championship clubs to come to us. He has played for Man Utd so I think he would be a fantastic signing.
.........................
Don't for 1 second believe that he turned down championship for L1 and that poor excuse for a leeds fan has never been any good since that red lot changed him from a gl scoring striker in prem and champions league with leeds to a midfielderat least that keeps him well away from pulling on leeds shirt but still have to see him from time to time when he joins his parents at elland rd but not as bad as seeing him playing.put him in his proper position of striker and he will score a hatfull in L1.

Not best pleased tbh

Used to really rate him, couldnt understand why he was put in midfield.
Not heard too much lately, used to have a great work rate, though temperament was suspect, if he was to play anywhere near his best could score us a few goals, if used as a striker.

er superwhites - thats exactly what he has done. Confirmed on the club website a little earlier today. So where will robbo look to play him? Up in attack - where we sorely need someone or in midfield where we are not in such straights?

Moocamp, bit surprised that mk have brought him in to change to a position he has not played much in since leeds but that is by far his best position and he was deadly up front with mark viduka.playing up front he will push all over L1 defences of hudders and the Sheffield clubs putting you in contention. For 2nd place which would be good as that arrogant lot on ja606 hudders never mention mk as a threat always going on about Sheffield clubs as their only threat to 2nd place, they deserve another 10yrs in L1 just for their arrogance.

to be fair superwhites - between the 2 sheffields, hudders, ourselves, and probably stevenage, it really is anyone to grab the 2nd spot in the league. Owl and Udder 606's are by far the most vocal (and entertaining) on the league 1 boards.

Really hope Smith can pick up in attack for us, and he plays with the passion he showed at his previous clubs.

Last time I saw him live was at Anfield in Leeds last season in Premiership - Leeds lost BUT the travelling fans totally outsung, chanted and outwitted the scousers that day.

Good luck to Leeds - sadly I feel with your current owner, the club will not achieve the potential it has - especially given the fan base you have.

If this is true, it's an incredible signing. As a striker that is.

That's the best bit. With our small squad he can play as a striker or as a midfielder. I'm not sure about the rumour we are looking at Jamie Redknapp as a player / coach. I feel another Flo moment coming on.

Hazsa its true - check the website - maybe we will see him Tuesday night COYD

I've spent the last 46 minutes reading about it. So many fans of Championship clubs on my fb are peeved they didn't sign him! There's got to be a catch hasn't there?

Will he turn up on tuesday with a prosthetic limb or something?

posted on 29/1/12

As long as he scores goals he can turn up in a dress, on crutches, or anything else for that matter.

Tough on the other clubs. I read on one board his girlfriend lives in London, so maybe being based down here works out for him.

As long as he is fit he will get plenty of playing time. Newcastle must have gone an extra mile for him to come here as they are paying most of his wages.

So I figure its a real personal choice for him and Newcastle have gone out of their way for it to happen.

League one will be a change for him, and I dont see it as a Flo repeat. Smith is still passionate about the game and will help us get over the line COYD

I'm don't think you should expect a hatful of goals from him! He hasn't scored in 100 games or so. I know that's the EPL, but still...

I imagine you'll use him as a CM, unless Robinson sees some sort of goalscorer in him

Nope. He said this;

"I am really excited about seeing Alan Smith in an MK Dons shirt, he will fit in to our style of football and will add another element to our front four."

He gets rid if Sicknote Baldock, just to recruit Sicknote Smith, doesn't really make sense unless he really is fit again.

Gives the Physio some practice I suppose

Will give 110%but wether or not he will stand up to 90 minutes thats another question

even 110% of 45 mins would be great for us. We need a big powerfull striker to come on and be capable of changing games. Personally i think he will be good for us and for him. What better way can there be to come from where he is now sitting on his backside playing no part to possibly becoming a Dons hero and the centre of fans attention...I know i would rather take the latter option and still get paid my 60K a week

Surely 110% of 45 minutes is 49.5 minutes, which is okay if there is a lot of injury time, but pretty useless if both teams have gone off. Come on Alan, give everything whilst you are playing, and have a rest at half time

Make sure you are at the game tomorrow night Bill and you can time the game and make your judgement on the % of effort.

If only I could Moocamp, I still hope to get to a game this season, just never in the area at the right time
