He wasn't at fault for any of the goals.
The first one he was blocked off.
The second, as a gk you hedge your bets and expect the opposition player to go across you.
How was he massively at fault for both our goals?
Yes, he could of done better. but the blame should lie at Evra for the 2nd goal and our CB for not marking properly for the first.
Dont understand it at all. Fergie seems to be rotating keepers for the hell of it. Putting De Gea into a game like this just made no sense whatsoever.

He wasnt at fault for the second. For the first one however, he should have stayed on his line.
You should have signed someone like Frieldel. Bonkers to gamble on an untried keeper.
Did he only play today because of the transfer fee?
He didn't look confident at all.

Been saying it all day. I've actually been shocked by the overall managerial incompetence this season. Players playing out of position, an insistence on playing Giggs every single game, away from home, and a rotation of goalkeepers which is just downright insane. I can't stress enough how much difference it makes when the same team is played every week as much as possible. De Gea will be of benefit, more so than most.
Fully agree it as was strange move to play him today.
Wonder if he will play against stoke ???
Lindegaard will play, I presume. I'd rather see Lindegaard start every league team til the end of the season. De Gea can play in the Europa.
See, CP. That is a rational comment. I haven't labelled De Gea 'carp' or a 'failure'. He just needs time to bulk up and regain some confidence for next season.
He has made some bad mistakes in his games so far but he was definitely not at fault for the two goals today.
the lad is costing us too many games
first goal De Gea showed no authority as usual..doesnt come out well for crosses..lacks presence..lacks strength
De Gea compared to his reputation has been carp though !
Wanted him so badly to be good but he hasn't been good at all.

What reputation? The one that he's a young goalkeeper with bags of potential? He has proven exactly that. Do you seriously believe that our management bought him under this illusion that he would walk straight into the side and never make mistakes? Of course not.
They knew his build when he was bought. De Gea is a long term investment, one that I still believe will pay off.
I agree he may have potential long term but at the monet he is a liability
He had massive rep at Madrid, was excellent over there and I saw him play he looked brilliant.
But let's be honest he's been shocking for us so far.
I worry every time opposition gets near goal.
Young keepers often struggle at the start of their careers (apart from joe hart ) before we brought de gea i was hoping we would go for a stopper in his mid 20's rather than a youngster. I don't think he's been quite as bad as some have made out, his shot stopping is good and he has kept us in games this season and his distribution is (in general) excellent, put he clearly struggles with crosses, even though i don't blame him for the goals today.
In la liga they don't really get the ball wide and just pump it in there (not from the games i've seen anyway) so he wouldn't have been coached to come and clatter players in his way and take the ball at all costs, there would be no need for the athletico coaching staff to spend time on that side of his game in my opinion, we may well see the best of him in the next couple of years, it can take over seas players a bit of time to settle in english football.
Got to be the most unreliable goalkeeper in the Premier league. Another Taibi for sure.
My problem is his presence. Back in the day, schmeichel would put agger, carroll and the ball in row z all together, the second goal was a pathetic beating at the near post regardless of power. With lindegaard in goal today we progress to round five. He cost us against Blackburn, he cost us against Basel, and now today. Not just the goals, but his fumbling of crosses and dodgy passes. I do sincerely want him to work out but he has potentially cost us more than one competition this season.
'Massively at fault for both goals'? You serious? The amount of kids posting on here that are totally clueless about football is what irritates me.
Sorry rant over.
Tbh i hope we stick with him, i think long term he will be a very good keeper.
