maybe you need home and away teams.

the problem with going for shots was the fear of being criticised and letting your mates down if you get out.

they should have had a better gameplan as they surely have worked out by now that if you lose one wicket you could easily lose three more.

should've had a blast once strauss was out.

England still have ranking points to play for as well as pride. Someone on another post was saying is SA beat NZ 3-0 then they will take top spot if England lose 3-0 so still a lot to play for despite series defeat.

Ravi is a shoe in for me and maybe they should call up someone from the lions squad as a kick up the backside for KP or Bell?

I don't think it's a case of being criticised, I'd rather that then trying to soak up the pressure with successive maidens. Broad/Swann could have been promoted to 3, but Strauss evidently had faith in the top 5/6 to knock off the runs.

The only change I'd make is Bopara in for Morgan, I'd give KP a few more games with perhaps Taylor in contention if he fails.

i don't like ravi - he's had too many chances.

yep, if pakistan win 3-0, then saffers have to beat kiwis 3-0 to claim top spot.

the last test is only worth 1 point to these teams as the points are so tight now.

the only way pakistan can get any higher in the table is to beat teams above them in a series

Bopara isn't mentally tough enough for test cricket, we should keep him for 1 Day & 20/20 only.

RB had his chances, but he can't be any worse than Morgan in these conditions. He's supposedly good at playing spin and able to chip in with the ball.

I don't think Pakistan will beat us 3-0, If they do I'd be very concerned.

Well what a terrible batting display, englands lack of skill and terrible technique against sub con. sides is really showing them up. What on earth were cook and strauss doing heaping pressure on the lower order by wasting the new ball! Attack Gul at all costs, it was obvious the spinners were going to turn the ball sideways in the 4th innings and blocking out the new ball was just madness.

How on earth the likes of Vaughan and hussain suggest England are going to be the number one side in world cricket for years to come is beyond me, dont they know they cant hack asian conditions? to be the best, youve got to show intent and aggression..the bowlers have it, the batsmen dont. So what was missing? well a batsmen with a bit of balls would help, the number of times i shouted for the batsmen to attack the bowl and COME OUT OF THE CREASE to meet the ball on a half volley, hence eliminating the spin but no, england chose to stay back not knowing which way the ball was turning and leaving their bat out like a stick. hopeless. I suggest watching a video of michael clarke and see him play against spin, IMO one of the best spin players in the game.

On a plus, the bowlers played well...thats the only plus i can seek. Oh and cant england adjust the batting line up a bit better? it was a chance for someone like Broad and Swann to move up the order and give it a slog at 3-4, try something different!!

All this being said, it proves my theory that Pakistan have the best spin bowlers in the world, its a shame Ajmal didnt come into the international scene earlier but he'll be around a few more years yet if he performs like this....and their fast bowling options arent too shabby either. Congrats to Pakistan a fully deserved victory.

England should not have played aggressive shot but Strauss and Cook getting bogged down early on (one run an average) handed the advantage to their spin bowlers.
The way they played gave the impression to those in the dressing room that they were bowling hand grenades, which set the tone of England's innings.
Even though Andy Flower hates to make changes, I'll be surprised if Morgan is not dropped for the final game, remember Bopara gives an extra bowling option which makes retaining Panesar easier.

What a double standard knowitall. Do u remember when neon was telling u that it is not the format but the condition u are struggling with and u r like no in tests I don't see our team losing. Our players can bat the whole day and etc. Lool to all fairness I would have to give you that I was very impressed with ur bowling.

....the chest beaters have got the knives out....surprise - surprise.

My only regret with this game was the way Pakistan did it way to early.....I would of loved to seen England at 115 for 1 and then rip into the pommies after the chest beaters had their say... well done Pakistan and thanks for pulling out the rug from under the pommies feet...

THIS, so much this!

The players (batsman) are damned if they do and damned if they don't....
I tend to agree with you dazsa, once it had become quite obvious after a few overs what the intensions were of the bowling attack...yes pop down the crease and meet the ball half-way......well not that far but meet it just the same....

But you can imagine what the pommie supporters would of said had there been a couple of catches on the boundry or the odd stumping....

I don't think you would find knowledgeable cricket fans lambasting Ian Bell if he came down the wicket, got one that suddenly turned square past his bat and got him stumped.

The same goes for if Morgan had gone to sweep/ reverse sweep and suddenly got one that bounced out of nowhere and took a top edge.

That was a classic example of how not to approach a chase of 145. Pakistan were allowed to bowl as if they were defending 300.

10 overs of positive, but not reckless batting can get you 30 runs. That's a fifth of the target! The fielding captain moves men from around to the bat to run saving positions, shuffles his bowlers, and makes life a little easier for batsmen basically.

Double standards? i did suggest England would have the potential to bat all day better than Pakistan but id never said England will win in the sub. con. Get your facts right, i would never suggest a series is a forgone conclusion as it only takes one star performer to dictate a series..i.e Ajmal.
