Don't give up on the galaxy yet!
You're right it does sound... Sacrifice winning the title this year to be in with a shout of winning it next year. Don't be daft. I wish you bhoys would just man up and admit that you're gutted at coming 2nd to the champions again instead of all this "Some defeats are more triumphant than victories" garbage..

You won the flag by a whole point, the Rookie chased you all the way, he reached 2 finals, he has inspired ra revolution, but, no excuses... WE blew it.
HOWEVER.. Your "Sacrifice winning the title this year to be in with a shout of winning it next year" is bang on...it sounds a wee bit mental.
Hector I'm not saying Lennon didn't do a decent job.. 92 points would have won the title in any of the last 5 seasons, but I don't buy into all this "blessing in disguise" and "we dont mind losing the title".. If it was me I'd be gutted.. I have been before >> 2008
Willie: i am obviously gutted we lost the league
im saying that maybe some of the players will feel like they owe the manager and the supporters something and will want to stay for at least another season to win it.
i never said anything about sacrificing winning the title this year with a shout of winning it next year
You said it's a blessing that you lost it because players will now probably stay to probably be in with a chance of maybe winning it next year............
Would it not just been better to win it this year?
of course it would have been better winning the league!...
however if it meant that the best players in our squad would still be wanting to stay in the team and prove themselves to everyone and win the league next year i would be happy with it. the celtic support are all united under Neil Lennon as boss and are liking the way things are going. He did very well taking his team to two cup finals and taking the league to the last day of the season. of course it was disappointing losing the league and the cup final to rangers, but we have improved beyond ANYONES expectations and albeit we havent won anything yet i think majority of the support have been 100% behind the team this year and that was clear on the last day of the season at paradise
This current Celtic group are just beginning to form and will want to drive forward next season. If we had won the league it would still be the same. They know that they are privilaged to be part of a special club with special supporters. Who knows, if we get into Europe in 2012/3 and the squad gets strengthened even more, we could achieve at the MON levels. Hail Hail
Yes but would they not have stayed anyway had they won the title for the chance to play champions league football next season? Let's be honest that's the reason why most if not all of the aforementioned players joined Celtic for in the first place..
im not sure if they would have or not.
but im sure the main reason for people joining either Celtic or Rangers is getting noticed by teams in England and trying to make it big by using us as a stepping stone
for the younger players anyway IMO
No chance mate they're there to play on the biggest stage of them all. I couldn't see any of them passing up their first taste of champions league football for a relegation fight in England.. Now though I'm not so sure with Celtic only in the Europa. I can't understand why you think losing the league is a blessing I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one m8.
well there was some serious speculation with kayal and izzy going to man united, liverpool, arsenal etc etc. so im sure that would tempt them quite a bit
and we will have to, though i feel like i could have worded it a bit differently, it sounded a lot better in my head when i was posting it earlier
(i know the smileys dont work yet, but you know what i mean)
Losing is sometimes a victory, remember that in these sad times.........
I like the fact that victory is ALWAYS victory. Brilliant.....!
nah there is no blessing in disguise, just a cop out.
nothing more you can add to it really
