I'm still content with my PS3 if I'm honest.

If true it only confirms suspicions that sony was never truly in as a gaming product. It was always tacked on as a feature to their home media products. They were in for the quick profit(which is not bad in anyway) but their lack of real passion for gaming(ie. Nintendo, Sega, Xbox) would have them cut and run at the earliest hiccup. Too bad. Competition is always a good thing in any industry.

I honestly wonder if consoles haven't already reached their peak.
PS3 pretty much does everything already: top games, awesome graphics, online play, internet, blu-ray, 3d, motion control, film streaming, etc.
What can any new console, be it from Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo really offer thats new?

That's a ridiculous statement and question. The video game industry always improves and innovates. Always pushing the envelope. You sound like a Van Halen fan how refuses to move on to other music.

R2M, Van Halen suck and always did!
All I'm saying is, I'm perfectly happy with my PS3. If a PS4 did come out in the next couple years, whats it going to offer me that I don't already have?

Thats up to them to decide. They wouldnt release anything if they didnt deem it attractive to consumers.

blueboy83, like you I am content with what I have.....for now, the industry will continue to grow and I think that Sony will only make a new console to cope with games that need better hardware to run them.

I think Skyrim has already proved that this time has come already!

You have a slight problem mate in that fact you seemed to have chosen a site that seems as good at predicting the future of gaming as goal.com does of football. The whole piece is more fiction than fact.

sony losing big money and exploring other avenues is not fiction.

dont know if your a sony fan boy but sony like any company is profit driven . wont develop and market something if it wont show a good return.

The worry for any company must be that they'll build a Dreamcast.

@manchester united have won 2 world titles (U4708)

I didnt say it was - what is fiction is the piece that you have linked. Badly if at all researched with little or no fact from someone who knows nothing about video games or the market..............he is just having a knee jerk reaction to a piece published at the start of this year saying that one of MS/Sony or Nintendo may choose to pull out of video games within the next 5-10 years.
