Ill make a prediction that green will still be a RAMS player tomorrow, but ive a bad feeling about jamie ward, id swap anyone coming in for him to stay.
yer, agreed! Ward is most valuable player...
Lewis McGugan has been mentioned all window, if Davies or Green goes and his contract running out in the summer you never know. A brillant player at this level, reminds me of Barnes. But is this tranfer just too ambitious?
Why would signing McGugan be ambitious? A free from a team in the same division as us
Do you not think Derby should be ambitious?
Bournmouth are FFS
I've missed something - where does it say that they are considering leaving Green out for tonight? (been in the office since 6:30 this morning)
Mcguan would still cost a considerable fee, its fustrating that you do see Bournemouth splash the cash coz 800k for Tubbs is a good deal.

Do i think we should be ambitious?
Yes, the least i expect is seeing a couple of permenant signings after nearly ten players leave :/
Clarke_ram, where did you read that about Pittman? Would be happy if that turned out to be true!
Thanks for the link.
It seems to imply that we might be losing a few - or none. I hate deadline days.
Well It's Tom Glick day today. I bet he was polishing his shoes early this morning and has cancelled all non transfer related calls.
He must hate today, it's when he realises how far out of his depth he is. He admitted last year he let Nigel down. Can he step up to the plate and deliver this year?
He has to get rid of Green and Miles today but who else will he be touting and how much would he take for Ward, Shackle and Barker?
There will be 3 going out I reckon with 1 or 2 loans coming back in to replace
I'm Not too bothered about us bringing in permenant signings during this window but would like to see a few more season long lones with a view to buy in the summer like we did with Ward, Fielding and Theo. I dont think this is the case with Tom Carrol as it sounds like he's wanted at spurs and he's just coming here to toughen up a bit in the championship. same maybe said about noble too. We knew we had to get rid of the players we have so far before we would be able to bring in the players Nigel wanted in the summer and i think it would have happened had they gone in the summer but nobody wanted them. But if Green and ward end up going then that leaves us really short on creativity. I expect Green to go to be honest and we did ok without him at the start of the season till ben davies lost his form anyway. anyway like I said I Thought we would have brought in in few more season long lones with a view to buy but its not over yet. but then again with most teams playing tonight doesnt leave much time does it?
The trouble with shifting so much 'dead wood' is that you are in danger of chopping the tree down. I saw it happen with Docherty, I saw it forced upon us under the Amigos and I see it happening now.
When is enough enough?.
After the Stoke match Nigel was saying he is looking at other signings but the inference was during the emergency window. So a 3 month job to tide us over to the end of the season.
All the deadwood has gone, we have endured the pain that went with it, so i'll be disapointed if we don't continue the rebuilding programme this window. Loans with a view to buy served us well last season, it can agian this one. Noble and Carrol don't fit that and it's a surprise we've gone that route.

According to this im bang on prediction!
Swap deal is a good move in my eyes, pugh is a good player!
The scary thing is how the Bournemouth fans are excited about the transfer window and we are bricking.
Thanks for the ambition, GSE.
Old One Eye.
But surely the reason the 3 amigos sent so many players down the line was to fund their own pensions and expenses. There IS the danger you mention but it's not done us much harm so far, though I agree it's now gone far enough.
Bur letting Tom Huddleston go for £600k was a criminal folly.
Well they signed Tubbs yesterday and Richie is about to sign for them today, two of the best players in the lower leagues! Looking at the fees its disapointing that we havent even tried :s however Pugh is a good player!! good goal scoring record from midfield, young and can play on the right or left!
Interesting that Cough was so nonchalant about Addison, looks like lad is out the picture.
I hope the Pitmen rumour is true because he is sort of player we need up front, but honestly I really doubt it is.
Pugh for Davies seems like good deal, it is shame as Davies was on fire at start of season, but then seemed to lose his flame big time. I like him, but he needs to be more consistent at this level.
Sad to see Greens time is up, but understand both parties decisions.
Praying Ward doesn't go, especially to flester.

What do you think gse are doing?
More of the same, but on a vast scale
Pugh is a great player, their top scorer. Only leaving because he wont sign a new deal to get him and money is brillant business for Davies who i think is two yards too slow!
People are never happy. We're not fighting relegation for once, we have a manager who seems to be steadily guiding the club in the right direction and an Academy which is beginning to yield results.
Yes, it's not ideal. As for GSE, well, we don't exactly have a queue of people wanting to buy us & responsible (fit & proper persons) owners at that. We seem to be run in a responsible manner though there is a valid argument that the owners ought to invest more in quality after the manager has fulfilled his brief in lowering costs.
Maybe we should also remember where we have come from: boardroom & management upheaval, deadwood, debt, worst side in PL history, relegation battles. It is sobering to think Davies spent £15-20m and there was little return. Add on to that what Jewell wasted and then maybe, in the current economic climate, you accept reluctantly that the club cannot spend what it doesn't have.
Today id be happy to see:
Out
Ben Davies
In
Marc Pugh
Keep green
CapnBob
We were, possibly, the worst team in the championship ever over a 46 game period only a year ago. Luckily those 46 games werent all in one season and if Derby were to sell the better players then it could easily happen again
Would you trust them not to sellour better players even for a small profit?
You call GSE sensible and prudent and I'll call it not wanting to invest
I for one am not too concerned about lack of investment.
I just wonder where the money goes.
