I'll still voice my sheer disappointment that for the umpteenth window in a row, our best player has been sold, and this time there's no replacement either waiting in the wings OR being signed up.
There are players we could afford to lose, where we had sufficient cover.
The forward position is NOT one of them.
The proof is in the pudding. If we've got to wait on the outcome of a taxcase and the £5.5m keeps us from going to the wall, then it will have been worth it in the longrun.
We've thrown the league away with that move though...
Football fans; stand back for a moment from the Daily Retarrds tabloid ramblings.
Ranger on the field; triple champions, currently second in the league 1 point behind Celtic.
Off the field; no-one knows; the tax case changes everything.
Either Rangers pay a small amount and carry on as now with a smaller squad.
Or Rangers lose the tax case in which case the most likely outcome is administration and the owning company burst; Rangers carry on with 10 points deducted and no debt.
Thats all folks; the rest is blhuster and bhanter and wishful illfeeling towards Rangers. Simples.
Having said that chaps, if you fancy having a wee protest in and around the ground on Sunday it would be greatly appreciated. The more unsettled your team is the better as far as we're concerned!
Esctosh i will support the rangers untill the day i die but what happened today was a nightmare. Best player sold no replacement a striker a few months ago who could not even get on the bench is are main striker. Why not even a loan deal i hope i am wrong but the league is going to be really difficult to win this season.
In Ally & Craig we trust
spat my toast into my coffee there...surely no lads...c'mon wise up for crying out loud , its embarrassing watching you guys cling on with yer fingernails to the last ever moonbeams....
Aye you did, you also said even people, people meaning the others. Smith is a legend, but still doesn't change my point. Why did he not question Murray when he was taking us down shitte creek?
Don't get all the abuse for Whyte. It's no his fault we are where we are. I don't like him, but so far apart from making a mess of transfer negotiations I don't see anything he's done wrong.
Anyone that thinks we'd have been better off with the bank is kidding themselves.
I also believe Rangers have been let down badly off the pitch in recent times and do not give chairmen my loyalty.
Chairmen are not my football club.
Esctosh, I partially agree. Support your team through thick and thin. I've suffered the 90s and it was not pleasant.
But Rangers season ticket holders are entitled to ask, what's going on? Shareholders are entitled to ask, why have so many promises been broken? Why have we sold a player for less than what we were offered a week ago?
I actually sympathise, I have mates who are Rangers supporters. Just decent guys who go to watch their team, they deserve better than that chairman treating them like that and Mccoist deserves better.
Hawk,
have faith mate. We've been over the course and distance many times. We've come thru a bad patch and only 1-pt behind. The boys will pull together. Remeber, Jelly hasnt been at the races for weeks. It is the opportunity for someone else to step up. We will be in there at the death scrapping for the title. Sellick have bottled it before and will feel the pressure as the season unfolds. We have all the experience and everything to play for. Nothing to worry about. Just back the team and the team will reward the fans
I don't see anything he's done wrong.
where do we start?
15m front loaded? where is it?
24 m season ticket mortgage,,,? where is it?
5.5m for jelavic...
given time m8 i could fill this page....
Esctosh i hope you are right!
Henrik,
I'll take Whyte's word over Trayonrs every day of the week. Whyte has rebutted Traynor's claims. That's good enough for me. Speculation is not fact. Traynor and his DR cohorts are not privvy to the finances of Rangers. Everyone is dealing in "hearsay" and "what ifs". I'll stick to the facts. THe facts are we at the moment owe HMRC jack. We are 1-pt behind you.
Henrik
Do you think, in a funny way, there's now a wee bit more pressure on Celtic to win the league?
no point protesting as that will onlu affect the team, its times like this when our support is really needed
we will come bk from this and who knows mervan coukd well b a decent addition
there is no way we should win the tite so preddure is off the players
I don't see anything he's done wrong.

Aye the 5.5m comes under transfer doesn't it
We didn't qualify for Europe, I wouldn't expect him to throw his money away
The season ticket mortgage, you mean the story ran by the record? The same paper Celtic boycotted earlier in the season?
No one knows, so far you can't say it's a bad move. Could be that that money will keep us going if we are found guilty by HMRC.
Also said by him that it was set up by the past management.
We'll keep supporting the team regardless. Today was majorly disappointing but bigger and better players than Jelavic have left for pastures new and we keep on keeping on.
Would just have liked to see at least a loanee replacement brought in to show the other mob we're not surrendering the league just yet.
Ah well, on to Sunday's game for us. Come on the Gers and everyone get behind our team and keep the faith in our players
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/9689658.stm
Does this look like the face of a guy who was choking to leave? I don't thinkso....
Looks more like another player pushed out of the door.
Short memory there Esctosh.
Before the gerz won 3IAR, Celtic won 3IAR
Celtic also paid down a 35 million pound debt during those 3 years.
After the tax-case is settled we will see how Walter won his last 3.
papa
our best player for last 2 months was out of contract so wjo knows we might still get somoene in
doubt iy though
Get Whyte out of your club as quickly as you possibly can, by whatever means.
Back your team.
Don't back him. Berate him. Get him tae.
tim
berating him will not help the players on the park
leave our club to rangers supporters
thanks for your concern though
tim
knows something we dont. Facts tim. Give us facts. Not hearsay and whispers.
We back our team 100%. Period. We're not the plastic, self-proclaimed GFITW who called for Lennons head when they were 15-points behind.
See everyone having a go at Whyte and wanting him to get to?
Who do they think is going to take over?
Whyte has taken us on with a 40m tax bill hanging over us, no one else really wanted to.
EK,
Have some big Rangers fans in my family. They are not happy with this guy.
Just my 2 cents.
