Its just a fact of life that the whole country is struggling at the moment.Taking into account the budget Robbo has at his disposal he is working wonders. All the signings he has made will I believe be good business and I think we should all get behind the Dons and try to push them over the finishing line. Also Bill u seem to have your negative head on at the moment, the positive one is a lot better!!!!
Bill you are clearly somewhat depressed or pessimistic judging by your recent posts - do you have BUPA cover?
Overall I think these are good moves and will help the rest of the team, especially the younger players - both Chicksen and Flannigan did well last night and Powell am sure will really benefit of having someone like Smith to be training and playing with. Dont really care about the rest of the transfers, loans etc COYD
Dartford, yes I am a bit negative at the moment, what MK Dons desperately need is an out and out goal scorer, and all Robinson got was a young defender and two people straight off the injury list.
If he wants youth, why not look to the Acadamy and give some of them a chance. What must the strikers be .feeling knowing that Robinson prefers someone who hasn't played for months over them?
He could have looked at the lower leagues to see if ere was anyone there. Matt Butt went from Crawley to Bournemouth for £800k, A number of other clubs have signed people from the Blue Square. Maybe they didn't want loan deals but he coulfd have tried paying on results.
Looking at the stats from last night, MK Dons had possession for 57% which is around 53 minutes and only had 1 shot on target. Passing football is great as long as there are goals at te end of it
ill get the prozac..............
If he is a Russian striker, then yes please
We did well with Chadders even though he came to us injured and the glimpses Smith showed he looked class. The failure to score isn't just to do with strikers but getting chances and we have made too few in the last few games.
The question for me is that do we play Jabo from the start or not. He seems to make a difference to the team but if he starts, Smith would have to play instead of Gleeson (he won't be happy) unless we put him on the wing, which means replacing Bowditch or Chadders.
I have a good feeling Saturday that we will do well, but I'm keeping it to myself. Oh wait.
Wouldn't say Smith is right off the injury list. Hes been fit for 11 months or something, but hasn't been picked.
He couldn't get even 1 game for Newcastle in 11 months but he can walk straight in MK Dons
Little matter of 43 league places between MK Dons and Newcastle Utd.
not good enough for Bill haza, lets see in the coming games - I'm with you, he will be fit - just needs to get match fit
L1 players come back from 18 month injuries and perform well after a few games.
Smith has played in the PL since he was a teenager, and he hasn't even been injured recently!
Haza, because he hasn't done anything!!!!
I can't remember the last time a defender came steaming in and clattered me as I was sitting in my armchair, therefore haven't needed to call the Physio.
I assume as a Newcastle employee hes been training with the first team and playing reserve team games.
I don't think he was playing games, he had been told in June he was surplus to requirements, makes you wonder why Robbo didn't take him on a season loan then
Course he can, don't give up hope hasza, he just needs to recruit a scorer and be prepared to go to a Plan B when it is obvious that the Opposition has worked out how to stop MK Dons.
How many times do you hear it? 'He needs to get a 20 goals a season striker', i'm sure he's trying! Not as simple as that though is it?
And on tuesday we did display a plan b imo. We came out in the 2nd half and got stuck in. They weren't allowed to bully us, despite their best efforts, and it was a point gained considering the opposition and our circumstances.
Bill you seem to know a lot when you never watch the team play!.
Thanks Dartford, but to be honest I have watched the team play
Ok Bill sorry no offence meant but I just think we are doing remarkably well for a team with limited resources and play football the right way
Hasza, I am not saying he needs to get someone likely to get 20 Goals, just someone likely to be able to play 20 games.
Dartford, don't get me wrong, I think he has done an exceptional job, just he said that the team deserves to be strengthened, and I think he hasn't really done that. I accept that there isn't the money, but then it wasn't there when he said he would strengthen the team.
As I said on the other thread, I sincerely hope Alan Smith rubs my nose in it and scores 5 goals and the two young defenders stop anything coming into the MK Dons area.
