Apart from being amazed at your knowledge regarding the education/religion/criminal records of councillors, do non-dom educated councillors not get a vote for who becomes provost?
I'll ask again, are you suggesting that it's a big conspiracy?

canny be dos

they would have to fix things to get every provost for 40 years

I refuse to believe that they are not 100% open and all inclusive

If its true I guess it could just be luck

That's my view too Dos, if true it's just an amazing streak.

You are not actually suggesting that the upper reaches of GCC are a sectarian and nepotistic bunch are you? That would mean an almost overwhelming majority of one religion in the leadership despite that religion being a minority in Scotland? It would mean they were handing out contracts to their friends and colleagues of the same religious background? It would mean supporting certain areas of Glasgow because of religious background? Offering contracts to certain businesses rather than openly bid for them. I mean come on the Commonwealth games are coming to Glasgow, look how well the money has been spent there to benefit all in Glasgow?

I cannot believe that in 2012, in the West of Scotland, that such a conspiracy could take place right under the noses of all these fine journalists and MPs we have, and not be noticed. Definitely not.

Absurd.

There is a difference between elected members and permanant officials.

The above list consists of members elected by the citizens of Glasgow.

Who in turn elected a ceremonial Office Bearer - ie the LP.

Are you saying the elections were rigged?

Paisley, is that the masons you are talking about, because thats how they work, isn't it?

Paisley

Clearly you have evidence to back up your accusations, do you not feel a moral obligation to do something about it?
If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.

Could someone answer the 7 out of 8 [ over 86% ] thing?

There are 29 Secondary schools in Glasgow.

Over 40% of them are Faith Schools.

Skin deep tolerance.

I'm sure you are mistaken Dos, why would our Council spend so much of our tax payers money just to throw it away? Why clear and rehouse so many people to get the land ready for development and then get rid of it for a £1. Can't be right.

These projects have to demonstrate value for money, I mean, the Council isn't in the business of supporting private companies with taxpayers cash.

...........

What world do you live in?

Councillors the country over would sell their grannys to encourage private companies to invest in their ward/city.

Dos - the self-confessed socialist condemning public sector employment and defending an outdated discredited honours system - whatever next - you will be having a rant about gold plated public sector pensions and benefits/houses to single parents
