Fryers to leave the club..?

He got games this season because of Fabio's injuries. If he thinks he can do better elsewhere, good luck to him

This is how I believe it works

Kid and agent offered a deal by united
Agent tells kid I can get you more money
Agent releases a stalling/clubs are interested story to the press to get united to increase their offer
United then up their offer a bit or don’t
Kid either then signs or is sold

My point is that most likely fryers is trying to get the best deal he can (and why wouldn’t he?)

Either united will call his bluff and he will sign the original terms or they will up their offer a bit – but no big deal – I think he will stay

This sort of stuff is getting me abit concerned, is it all down to these youngsters demanding more money or is there something else going on behind the scenes, ie coaches, training?

If unproven kids are making unrealistic demands then they have no hope in the game. If this is true then it really disappoints me as Fryers is a left back with immense potential and the best possible competition for Evra.

Ship ain't sinking, why does everyone want to get off...they all supplied with a good life-jacket...mmm, or maybe it's only the rats that think they should get off?

I hope we don't lose Fryers for free in the summer

This is the third time this has happened this season. Morrison, Pogba and now Fryers. We've let one go, hopefully keep Pogba and now Fryers.

I have no idea what Fryers problem could be apart from his agent trying to extort more money out of Man United.

I wish the club just slammed all these kids, and show them the door now if they're only looking at getting unrealistic contracts. I mean Morrisons agent was looking at extracting £65k a week

.................

It is down to Agents, not necessarily the player.

The club should maybe consider tying these guys down to longer contracts earlier to prevent this from happening in future. For 3 of our best prospects to all have been allowed to get into this situation is worrying.

Honestly guys, just relax its probably the press blowing things out of proportion – there are no figures or details mentioned in this article so we have no idea what the issue is or whether they are arguing over a difference of £5K or what. Im sort of playing devils advocate here I think its easy to say oh why doesn’t he just sign up – but as a pro footballer your career could end tomorrow – he is entitled to get the best deal. I’ll admit is a bit cheeky and he should respect that united are going to give him a fair offer but if someone tells you he can get you more money or a player like pogba is a similar age and potential and is getting more you might hold out for that bit extra.

They're on a different planet, aren't they? Teenagers earning more in a week than many adults earn in a year, and the agent turns their head with promises of even more if they move - and the agent takes a 10% slice before starting the whole thing over again a year or two down the line. <furious>

It's all because Wayne Rooney is on so much money....for example, Welbeck currently on less than £10k a week said, hold on, Wayne Rooney is on about £200k. I play most weeks, I am an England International, so I want x amount of cash.

If they can get it elsewhere (and they can), then they would be stupid not to ask for it.

These lads aren't in the game to win trophies for us fans, they are in to earn money, just the same reason you and I go to work every day.

Busby - Is welbeck really on less than £10k?

Difference is this... like those people who beg for a job, say, in a factory, yet as soon as they are hired, they go on strike for more money...got it! Foorballers have agents... factory workers have those millionaire union leaders!

This is a clear attempt by his agent to get more commission for himself. Agents are ruining the game because they really don't give a damn about the well being of their clients.

Not true of every player.

Take Valencia for example, and Berbatov. In fact, Giggs could have left United in his prime for AC Milan and a bigger pay day.

Fabregas might well still be at Arsenal if they were competitive.

We can't see the whole picture here. All I'll say is this: if we're running a business model that stresses investing in good young players with sell-on value rather than established stars already at their peak, there's only so far we can afford to restrict the wage structure for youngsters. If another Premiership club can offer a quicker route to first team football AND better wages, some players will take that, including one or two who are good enough to make it at United. It isn't necessarily a sign of ambition to wait patiently.
