Magnum, I read your original post and thought that it was well articulated. I can only imagine that, like many an O.P. , it descended into pash and offensive posts leading to it's deletion
thanks..I didn't know that could happen. My next post will start off offensive and ascend into erudition. You will see in a couple of minutes!
well..not a couple of minutes....15 minutes at least...drat!
The problem was the reference to cakes.... which is a derivation of a term we have been instructed to kepp off the forum. After a complaint, we moderated the article.

we need more info on this
Madeira Me Admin...poor mate
The term buns is deemed offensive in the non-cake context.
google cakes see what comes up
now Im no with youngsters talk but what could it be
Admin1 naw jist naw! Pc gone mad!
Admin... let me make a public apology. I never intended it to lead to a discussion about cakes. I think I know what you mean though and will avoid such offensive language in future.
I have to say though that I'm astonished at how easily offended some people can be!
This article is worth a read as it amongst other things touches on the bill passed through the Scottish government.

Just to be clear. It is not our policy to report content or anything like that. But we banned a few terms that subsequently guys on twitter seemed to have got in trouble over of late.
I have had discussion with certain individuals and the general rule of thumb is rhyming the word doesn't wash, as the intent is similar.
We have had many many of these which are valid complaints:
This is an abusive personal and team taunt which includes ";bun";, a well-known rhyming-slang version of the sectarian insult "h.un"; - confirmed as sectarian by anti-sectarian group Nil By Mouth, the PSNI, a Scottish court,.....
