Being Irish I spend a lot of my time explaining to the French that I'm not British and do not, in fact, have a Queen.
They also seem to think Scotland and Wales are part of England which really winds those particular Celts up.

I had to explain that Ireland was a separate country to the UK and explain how the UK, Great Britain, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland worked to my American girlfriend who's studying for the GMAT, has a degree with a 3.0 GPA from one of the top 75 universities on Earth and speaks French, Spanish and Japanese.

I really do think we missed a trick when Oxlade- signed for Arsenal. For us Jocks, England is the country whose team got beaten 3 - 2 by the Scots innApril 1967 I think.
