Not sure about Walcott. I may be biased but Johnson over him any day, otherwise, I like your thinking. Let's ship the old guard out. Especially the morally repugnant Terry
That midfeild is dire.
And chances are wilshere wont even make it now anyway.
And why play walcott? He is so bad.
I would rather give that other arsenal winger the game time.
Looks like a good team, Richards and Jones would be good subs players too, Richards would maybe be starting too.
I pray that Lampard, Gerrard, Cole or Terry don't start. Also if Rooney continues to be poor for England perhaps drop him for Welbeck
Welbeck, Johnson or even the Ox on the wing... Walcott has had his chance (although i'd have him on the bench)
Rcihards should start, he is the best RB in the country at this present time.
Yeah sorry lads in a rush, on a quick break at work ... thought id write whats been on my mind all morning!
I'd agree i'd rather have Johnson on the wing over Walcott, my appologies
Stretty i disagree about the Midfield. I think it is technically good, and being able to pass the ball well in the modern game is pretty much becoming fundamental
I wouldn't play Carrick. It's a step back for me, despite his excellent form.
Wilshere and Cleverley in midfield couldme mouthwatering in a year or two
Richards at RB
Young performs well for England and if Downing can find his top form, I would have him in ahead of Wacott
Welbeck's going to be an England regular for the next 12 or 13 years so the sooner he's starts playing regularly the better.
The sad thing is, we know Postman Pat will just pick the same old faces, including the vile John Terry who IMO should never wear the shirt again
I wouldn't play Carrick. It's a step back for me, despite his excellent form.
------------------------------------------
Personally, I think any player should be able to play themselves back into contention... Parker has done it and i'm fine with that.
England are nearly always lacking possession in the center, Carrick would really address that issue.
Hopefully, Carrick and Cleverley will make it hard for Capello to ignore, over the next few months.
Hart
Richards--Smalling--Lescott--Cole
---------Wilshere--Parker---------
-----Milner----Rooney-----Young
-------------Sturridge/Welbeck---------
For me it is key Rooney is not up top on his own, and Bent just doesn't offer enough for me.
Johnson is a shout for either wing, as may be AOC if he continues to improve imo.
In Wazzas place for the opening 2 games is Gerrard.
Watching City recently Lescott and Richards must play imo, having seen a lot of Smalling I'd trust him at centre half, certainly more than Jones.
That sort of team would excite me, and looks a little more fearless than playing some of the old guard.

Fair enough mate
I'm off the ilk of binning the old guard and getting the younger players playing together now
In three years time we could have something verygood at the WC
If we continue to see Lampard Barry and Milner I'll end up losing interest again.
If we start playing all the good young players now, it would inject some excitement into the dull situation wekeep finding ourselves in with the national side
Why do people take issue with milner. He is actually a very good player. Technically sound, has a great engine, puts in a shift, covers a variety of positions.
I would actually go with BB's team. Looks good to me. Hard to know who to go with out of sturridge and welbeck.
Maybe shift young to the bench and have sturrdidge on the wing. He has scored a lot from there this season.

He's ok but I was sorta referring to seeing the three of them togather
Does my head in
Isn’t there a friendly in a week or two’s time? The frustrating thing for me is when capello experiments in friendlie’s but then just reverts back when it comes to tournament – either stick to the old guard and play them constantly or use the friendlies to give younger players that you want to actually use in a tournament game time!
Milner did have an awful WC, but he looks very good this season, seems as though he has a stronger mentality now CIty are real challangers.
Hart
Richards
Ferdinand (if fit) / Cahill
Jones
Cole
Lennon
Parker
Gerrard
A. Young
Rooney / Defoe
Sturridge
I can't for the life of me understand why Richards isn't the first choice RB:
-------------------------------------Hart--------------------------------
Richards--------------Rio-------------Jagielka-------------Cole
Lennon--------------Wilshire---------Carrick------------Young
-----------------------------------Rooney------------------------------
---------------------------------Bent-----------------------------------

in fairness to him, all the England players were pap at the WC. I don't get to many City games anymore as I live on the east coast, but I went to the home game v Newcastle and I was amazed at how much running and effort Milner actually puts in. This isn't always apparant on telly as his runs off the ball and positional sense aren't acknowledged
Ox on the right. Please not Wallnut

Very true, but if you had a choice of Walcott or OAC (one will go), I would take OAC anyday, he clearly has a better brain to go with his pace.
Hart
Richards Smalling Terry Baines
Carrick
Cleverley Wilshere
Sturridge Rooney Welbeck
Easily our best team.
So many people picking Cleverly...
Hes only played a few games at the top level and hes an automatic pick. Give the guy a chance to come back from injury and play his way in.
Hart
Richards Smalling Terry Cole
Gerrard Carrick Wilshere
Sturridge Rooney Welbeck
Carrick over Parker? No thanks
