Well there you go, that's clarified that then!

Excellent Vintage Arsenal.

But, one small problem; what do mean? That he makes his best players capatain and then sells them...? Err..where's the logic in that.

Vieira was sold when he was waning and it was time to bring through Fabregas.

Henry was sold after he'd served his purpose and Van Persie was ready.

And both times Wenger picked up ridiculously good transfer fees considering what they went on to do.

If Fabregas goes it will be the first time a great player has left at his peak.

I think Wenger smarts from losing so much potential money by hanging onto Henry for an extra season. He's very wary about not maximising potential revenue from selling players at the right time.

That said, I don't think he'll allow Fabregas to leave just yet. Fabregas still has a couple of seasons before he truly reaches the peak of his powers, and with a stellar season or two for us, his price could sky rocket.

You mean Henry winning the treble and Vieira winning Serie A 3 times?

Henry only stayed the extra season because of the 2006 CL final and his comments afterwards which made a move to Barca at that time impossible.
All parties would have been better off if he had gone then.

you wrote this article while clearly under the assumption that wenger's decision-making is as logical as it used to be.

evidence suggests otherwise.

I think the penny might have dropped for Wenger.
