Cheers lads, RIP ND forest fan!

The problem is, an awful lot of forest fans have been pouring vitriol onto doughty for a very long time , demonstrating and protesting against him, he put the best part of £100 million pounds of his own money into forest...then the "fans" turned on him...some of the so called condolences sound a bit hollow now....hypocrites in my view..

I totally agree with you John. I too have noted how spiteful some of them have been.

I think it's a shame that you guys should hijack JustAnother-FOX's condolences thread to slag off Forest fans. Aren't there are plenty of other places that you could do that?

fat , you can live in denial of the truth if you want..the real shame is what doughty a life long forest fan had to put up with when he was alive...he didn't deserve it..then, he doesn't deserve hypocracy now..RIP..

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and I can see johns point pf view. But the forest fans were perfectly entitled to protest against their clubs leadership when they were unhappy with the decisions being made
around the place. And they are now entitled to mournthe passing of a life long fan of the club, who has kept the club afloat for a decade. So let's let them do thatand maintain a bit of dignity along the way. Even the derby fans can manage it

Grow up john fallen

This is a very touching article from a rival supporter who's showing his respect to Nottingham Forest, not a chance to have a pop at such a difficult time.

Shame!

Thanks for your article JAF.

John Fallen - this really isn't the time for the debate you are trying to create.

Im not trying to start anythig just stating the facts. When is the "right time" to speak the truth?somebody please tell me. I know a lot of fans would rather gloss over reality cos a man has died. Mr Doughty took responsibilty for the mistake he made in employing mcclaren and stepped down, but that was not enough for many forest fans, they continued to hound him, with poison emails and letters and vitriol on messege boards.. now everybody wants to forget the blame game when it suits them..perhaps we can all learn a lesson from this tragedy, but that can only happen if the past is acknowledged and not ignored..mr. Doughty dies and all the forest fans respect him when 5 mintues before they slagged him off. If thats being a grown up ..no thanks..

I think john is right in waht he say's. But I think this is the wrong to to say it.
Most of florest fans are two faced any way.

RIP Mr. Doughty

JF - start your own thread if you want to raise this issue, but don't do it on one which is offering condolences. Totally out of order.

Mr Fallen - you suggested on a recent thread that you had been invited back to another board..

Don't let us keep you..

First of all, RIP to Nigel Doughty and it does put it all into perspective. So young as well.

Fair enough, he was getting some stick over his lack of investment but I don't think those Forest fans wanted him dead. After all, he saved the club.

posted on 5/2/12

I don't think anybody has said forest fans wanted anybody dead...but was said and done cannot be taken back..

john fallen - It's about sensitivity and care for your fellow man. I'm well aware myself of what some Forest fans have thought of Doughty in recent times, but is it not the case that sometimes in groups of family and friends people have fallings out or arguments from time to time? Are you seriously saying that they then should have that rubbed in their faces by some keyboard warrior trying to claim some outrageous moral high ground? I don't care whether they even liked him recently, any true Forest fan would be upset and saddened by his death and to mock them or use it to point out their failings when it's still so raw is pathetic.

Hold on Mcwoanz, this thread was started by a City fan offering condolences and backed up by almost all the other posts.

Shepshed, mcwoanz is the biggest wum going. The fact that hes on here telling us were little at a time like this actually surprises me. But there you go, nothing will stop this lad. As for John fallen, he could/should have dealt with the situation with more dignity but that's his choice.
