Agree with most of your selections except I'd take out Adam Johnson and add Bent in there, we'll need 3 strikers minimum. As for the CM option, I'd give it to Barry, whom i think is fairly underrated as a DM. Plus he'll have Parker alongside him to do all the running
in the 23 man squad you have to name 3 dedicated keepers.
I'd take Defoe and Leave Walker. Jones and Smalling can cover RB, although it won't be to cover for Richards as Capello is the only man on the planet who doesn't rate him(it'll be Johnson).
Apart from that I quite like your selections.
that sucks victor gooner, ok, then i'd have to remove carrick from the squad.
psycho gooner, no chance is gareth Barry ever allowed to play for england again, he is one of the worst england players of recent generations, and has proved this more than once. he is so bad in defensive midfield that you need to play a defensive midfielder with him, and his passing is what the french call, le cack
psycho - i thought about the 3 strikers but decided that young, walcott, and sturridge, plus probably ox, can all play up there.
jhon, i dont understand what you mean by swap young with johnson, they are both in there?
My team would be
Hart
Richards Cahil Lescott Baines
Parker
Gerrard Milner
The Ox Welbeck Young
I would replace Gerrard and Milner with Wilshere and Cleverly if they come back from injury and recover well
I would swap Milner for either Barry or Lampard. I seriously have no idea how Milner gets in the Man City team he is garbage.
he gets in the team because he covers more ground than anyone else. that is all, barry is useless and lampard and gerrard cannot play together, plus lampards legs are fading.
plus lampards legs are fading.
-------------------------------------
give it a couple of years and he'll just be an upper body floating around a couple of feet off the floor.
not fading away, just in colour, he'll be in black and white and we can get a rebate on our tv license!!
As of now I would take
Hart
Stockdale
Foster
Richards
Walker
Smalling
Lescott
Cahill
King
Cole
Baines
Milner
Parker
Gerrard
Carrick
A. Johnson
AOC
Young
Sturridge
Rooney
Bent
Welbeck
Defoe
The Ox has had two good games, isnt worth taking as you could argue Lennon has easily had a better season that him so far.
I think Defoe would have to play as well because he has been a great finisher for England, hell even Crouch is good for england. Would take those two easily over Ox and maybe Young.
unfortunately for defoe he isn't getting the games, in playing a 4-4-2 perhaps defoe would get the nod, but with the players we have i would say that it is in these attacking wide players where any possible victory will lie.
i assume that a returning wilshere will play as well, which would probably mean 3 in the middle. If he didn't then you may perhaps be right.
Young will definately go
spurtle, no taking king, he's too injury prone and we've been through all that before
I dont think young should go though. He has been poor to say the least.
I agree about King though, no chance in hell risking a player that injury prone for a tournament that is over such a short space of time!
Defoe has been the third best striker in front of goal this season though for minutes on the pitch. Isn't he only behind Sturridge and Rooney? Unless that's changed over the past week or 2.
You can take 5 strikers so after the obvious Rooney, Bent, Sturridge, Welbeck....who else is there?
Cheese - He's one of the few that have consistently played this season, and been good. The only other English CB who can tick both those boxes I can think of, is Lescott.

------------------------------------------
you can - but as we only play with one generally, what would be the point? would be better to take another AM/winger who can play up front in an emergency.
and i rate king, but we need to have a good idea of our back 4 throughout the tournement and with king that is impossible - unfortunately.
defoe is left out tactically. i expect 1 central striker, largely to be fought between rooney and wellbeck, otherwise sturridge, walcott and young can also play as strikers, and even ox. bent is a closer shout than defoe as a lone striker, but for me bent isn't as strong as bringing in others into play as rooney and wellbeck and i think that having more options in midfield is beneficial.

Well true although Rooney plays almost like a midfielder, and Sturridge can play on right wing. Let's not forget we won't be able to pick Rooney for the first 2.
