Shoaib Malik added to the Pakistan squad at Misbah's request!
Leave Azhar Ali alone, btw. He's going to become one of Pakistan's greatest ever batsman and he is a limited overs player. Watch and learn people.
PR, whats your full email mate, didnt go through!!!
AVFC, azhar is a wonderful player in home-like conditions. He's a toddler when it comes to overseas though, but im all for him staying in the team regardless of conditions in the test side...... As far as ODIs go, no chance. Much rather have shafiq, he's shown he can be aggressive and play positrive shots if/when needed, at the moment azhar-the-legend doesnt have that in his armoury and should stick to test - for now at least!!!!
How do you know, Azhar can't play aggresive? Firstly, there has been no situation where he has been forced to play aggresive. Plus, you don't need to just have the ability to hit sixes to play aggresive, you can hit just fours and run between the wickets well. Something he can do.
As for the Tests go, during that England tour he scored 92* when the team failed. Plus, before that in his second test against Aus, he scored a half century when we chased down 100 odd in a game where Aus were bowled out for 88... So he showed he has some ability abroad!
Amir, agree with you regards to test cricket, he's shown he can do it and I have no doubt he'll be a PROPER number 3 in a couple of years regardless of conditions.
Regards to no situation of playing aggressive - sri lanka a few months back when we needed 170 in 24 over? Saffers last year when we went tick tock and played for a draw to name but 2.... but i take your point.
