Onwards and upwards to years of 606 with jar on the name
I must say there is something to the format, so reassuring. Really feels like home for some reason.
I "moved to 606v2 for a while and then got told to "calm down" i.e. not be too happy about Novak's winning, I just really don't appreciate that kind of "mothering" and control-freaking & brain-washing.
I would like to see myself as a good-natured poster so to experience such heavy handedness was a big turn-off for me there.
I hope it's a bit freer here
...even if I can't add smileys !

just feels the same as bbc606 i just hope it's not as heavily moderated cos that was a freaking nightmate. anyway to whoever has taken the time to set this up thanks very much
I'm very happy with this site so far, and the fact that you see 'comment deleted' (as above) is wonderful news for many, after many football boards on the BBC 606 ran into despair with the 'bickering', aggressive and abusive comments.
To the contrary of the previous poster, many are actually calling out for much tougher moderation! As an example, the BBC 606 Reading FC 'board' became so infected with 'wum-ming' and multiple identities that over 100 fans left to set up their own non-WUM site "Royals Rendezvous".
Language decency is not so hard either. Why express something with four letter words if you can make it just as forceable in acceptable-to-all language? Just think of it as a challenge not a restriction!
However, neither should we ram this great site up the throats of other fans who all have own choices to make - there are currently over 20 national sports forums with special place for football, and many teams or sports have their own individual ones as well.
The future here is very optimistic ... but step by step ...
